Can't help sorry Natalie, but I'm going to add a question for those of you who've been on clomid. How did you find it affected your hormones? The reason I ask is that it lists mood swings as a potential side effect, and I used to suffer terribly on the pill until I eventually went on the progesterone only pill. I'm wondering if I need to tell OH to hide the knives....

Yes plus headaces & feeling sick, I've had 2 courses & feel awful every time, let's hope it's worth it soon.

Hi, I had 10 months of clomid in 2 cycles - the first did nothing except make me put on weight and be moody from time to time, though the stress of ttc was probably a contributing factor to the grumpiness. I then had a laparoscopy and dye and ovarian drilling done in one operation, then went back on the clomid for 3 months and conceived. My consultant said that sometimes the ovarian drilling helps. I have PCOS and quite a few fibroids. I would say that for me, and I know I was lucky, the side effects of clomid were not too bad, though my sister in law felt awful on it, though she too conceived once. Fingers crossed for everyone. xx

Well I'm bored now. I'm on CD 26 and according to the monitor haven't ov'd yet. Usually I ov between days 13-15 but last month I ov'd on day 23 and had a 38 day cycle. I have had (what feel to me like) ov pains for nearly 2 weeks now on and off.
Haven't BD'd much as hubby hasn't been feeling well.

    hey ho...

    Morning lovelies,

Hope everyone had a good weekend?

AF arrived for me on CD37, argh! Funnily though, if it works out the same next month it would mean I ov on my birthday which I have convinced myself is a good sign!! Few days out of work with the OH, lots of rest and relaxation, lots of bding :) Woo hoo! A little peeved at these bloody long cycles though, feels like I'm waiting forever for ov then for AF :( Becs do you find this with prolactinoma or am I just unlucky? Still waiting to be approved so I can use the pituitary forum btw, they're so slow!!

Hope ov happens soon Shelly, how frustrating. I found myself going mad waiting for ov the AF last month as I had no idea when to expect. Do you rather the CB monitor? I'm considering the eBay ov sticks this month, do u think the CB monitor is better?

    xx
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

To be honest I have no comparison. I tried the pee in a pot type ov sticks once but it was a long time ago and I couldn't get into it so gave them up. Then the trial came along for the CB monitor and it was totally free for 6 months so I gave it a go. I do like using it but won't go out and buy one when the trial is up because I think buying the sticks each month is too expensive.
When the trial is up they are sending the pee in a pot type sticks so I'll give them a go again now I know roughly what I am doing :D

I think the 'pee in a pot' type are best because the monitor is based on your oestrogen too, and if you have any hormonal inbalance it could completely miss O or give inaccurate results. I found the cheapy OPK sticks were always accurate, even when i was having false surges.

Hello ladies, haven't posted for a bit,as nothing much had been happening with me.

Well, the bank has said yes re the loan,so I'm booked in for another IVF cycle, but,to be honest I really don't feel ready to go through with it at the moment,I seem to spend most of my time shouting at OH or wanting to cry !!!!
Nothing seems to be going right at the mo,got passed by for promotion last week, the job went to somebody who I'm not particular fond of,who will now be my line manager !!!!

Also received a text from my SIL today informing me that I'm going to be an Auntie,I'm not normally bitter about such things, but she's in a same sex relationship & did it with the help of a turkey baster !!!
I'm not anti same sex couples having children, but in her case I know that they haven't thought through the long term plan and are "playing" at mummys & daddys(or should that be mummies & mummies) whats worse,is that the MIL will be ecstatic, and won't stop going on about it for the next 9 months, and I'll be biting my tongue, trying not to say "well I've spent a bloody fortune on ivf,put my body through hell & my life on hold ,and all I got was a BFN "

Anyway I seem to be turning into a bitter, miserable old hag,who nothing seems to go right for and life just seems hard work for me at the mo !!!

Oh well, rant over,I hope that everyones OK & baby dust to us all.

((((Nottslass)))) :grouphug: poor you - have a (rather odd smiley methinks!?!) hug or three. Total sympathies my dear, but also Congrats on getting the finances sorted for another trip on the 'IVF Rollercoaster'.

You are right though, not to do it until you feel ready. It takes so much out of you emotionally, as you know, that you need to be in the right frame of mind before you start I think. Maybe wait another month? - Easy to type I know - and I am so impatient that I can't bear waiting! but I am coming around to DH's idea that we wait another month too......

I thought I was coping OK, until DH said something last nite which I took totally the wrong way - cue tears & ranting & getting myself in a state about basically nothing!
He wants us to wait another cycle anyhow, so that we can have our planned holiday with the SK's etc in April without being TTC. I'm going to see the counsellor again tomorrow, so will talk it out with her. TBH I'm not sure that I am emotionally ready for another trip just yet.

Hey, Maybe we will be IVF cycle-buddies again?!?:D

TTC with FI - RIP my 2 MC Angels - 3rd full ICSI starts May/June 2009 - BFP!!! Please let it be 'third time lucky'..... EDD 7th March 2010.

Hi FE, Part of me feels as if I should get a move on before my ovaries need zimmer frames, but another bit thinks that the longer I put another cycle off,the longer I've still got hope for,as this really will be my last try, does that make sense ?

At the moment The plan is to start down regging about the 13 April with EC about 11th may (if my sums are right).if I leave it any later it'll interfere with our holiday,to Egypt, in June, and believe me I really need this holiday.

Maybe I should book an appointment to see the clinic counseller ?

Anyway, take care,FE & given the law of averages one of us should get a BFP !!!!
