Thanks Js Other Half
Nice to get a bit of positive news! Just so easy to get totally disillusioned with it all! I had the HyCosy which came back fine so maybe they will offer me a Laparacopy at some point!
Congratulations by the way!
Just feeling thoroughly fed up today and decided best way was to vent off with people in the same boat in here, feel sick of talking about it to my very patient friends!0 -
Hi Shelley,
Just a quick note with ref to Bupa, I have had a policy continuously with them for over 10 years now. I changed employment last year but the company I worked for and the one I do now both have the same discount entitlement. When I updated my details to show my new employer I was told I had to start a new policy which would mean I would not have existing conditions treated or I had to pay full price on my existing policy. There was no way I was cancelling my exisiting policy as I need to have the option of having my tumour removed through Bupa should the need arise.
Anyway I wrote a letter to the chief executive personally and sent it registered post. His Pa rung me at work (they hadn't even got my work number so she went to the trouble of looking at where I worked now and getting the number!) and sorted it out there and then. They applied the discount to my policy immediately, sent me a refund of some overpayments and put everything in writing. I was really impressed. So my suggestion would be for you to do the same. Sometimes going to the top is the easiest and least hassle way of doing things, and lets face it we could all do with less hassle!0 -
Hi Becs.
I have to say I'm sorry but you have lost me a little bitI don't think I am entitled to any discounts or anything as I am on hubbys company policy, its not a personal one.

I suspect you're right Shelly as all the private medical insurance companies have the right to pull the plug on cover at any point, if they consider that the original purpose of the consultation has been fulfilled and that further consultations would be for a reason not covered by the policy.
Becs is right though in relation to switching policies. It is possible to get continuing cover for pre-existing conditions by negotiations. If its a company policy it is much easier and sometimes the employer isn't even charged more for this, especially if they are a big employer giving the insurer a lot of business. I'm on my OH's policy as well, and when he changed jobs and therefore medical insurers, it was a condition that I would be covered for all my pre-existing conditions which had been covered under the old policy. This also applied when his employer decided to change insurers after a few years. However, that isn't the situation you are describing here, so not applicable to you I don't think.0 -
Hi Shelley,
I was thinking in terms of you having had consultations covered and them now saying they are not. You may be able to sort it out and get it in writing that they will cover you for consultations both now and in the future. They are keen to treat loyal customers well which makes a very pleasant change.0 -

Ohhhh I get you now :rotfl:
I'm not sure I have much clout if I am honest. If I have any problems with BUPA I call hubby at work, he speaks to HR who sort it for me.
I had to make the calls about the bill not being paid because hubbys HR said there might be confidentiality issues so it was best if I sorted that particular problem myself.
IIRC they (BUPA) told me that consultations should never have been covered in the first place so I got lucky having had 3 paid for by them.
Now I know we aren't covered for consutations I have accepted it and its not really a problem because the doctor who is with BUPA also does NHS. We told him BUPA will no longer pay for consultations and he said it wasn't a problem, he will see us NHS.
It was just a stress and worry at the time.
thanks anyway:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hello everyone!:hello:
Nothing really to report from me - just checking in on you all!
CD22 and not feeling too bad. Working myself up to have a 'talk' with DH about whether we start the next round of ICSI this cycle or wait another one. I know he wants to wait so that we get the holiday with his kids out of the way, but I am impatient to get on with it again!
Our wedding anniversary next Tues, so we are going out togther on our own (IYSWIM!) don't know if that is the best time to broach the subject, but it's the first chance we'll get to be on our own for a while!
Have a good weekend everyone!

RosieBeagle - welcome! I have mild PCOS too, but my cycles are also (normally!) pretty regular at 30 days. Apparantly this is not unusual. I don't always OV every month, and my consultant explained that your monthly cycle happens kind-of independantly to your ovulation (or not). The hormones which trigger the thickening of the womb lining etc. get released before your body even knows if it has ovulated.
Ginvzt - I agree - 8 weeks is ridiculous! We never waited that long for results. Don't blame you for being mad! Glad you have a nice sympathetic GP though.
Jiblets - glad your boss is so understanding. It is such a help. DH had to change work sites last year, and we didn't know whether to tell his new supervisor (his last one was great about it, but this one is a younger chap), so we didn't say anything - until I had the MC and I really needed DH with me at the hospital. Supervisor was really nice and sympathetic. I felt a bit awkward when I saw him next (we work for the same co'), but it has been fine since. it is kind of a relief not to have the additional stress of keeping the secret! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

Has anyone on Clomid noticed their cycle changing - getting longer or shorter? Mine seems to be all over the place at the moment, I used to be a regular 26 day girl but now I've been going 30 - 35 days, I just don't know if this is right.0
-
Can't help sorry Natalie, but I'm going to add a question for those of you who've been on clomid. How did you find it affected your hormones? The reason I ask is that it lists mood swings as a potential side effect, and I used to suffer terribly on the pill until I eventually went on the progesterone only pill. I'm wondering if I need to tell OH to hide the knives....Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0
