tesco.com, Wines of the Loire mixed case quantity mistake [CLOSED]

    well, I too have just had a call telling me it's had to be cancelled because it's out of stock. Told I'd be able to reorder next week, yeah right. They'll miraculously have stock then at twice the price, I'm sure.

    So I spoke to a supervisor who gave me a load of bull about how their system works and that there was nothing they could do about it as the wine is fulfilled by a third party and if they can't deliver it to Tesco then Tesco can't deliver it to me. Don't believe a word of it, and told him as much. I argued, pushed, probed, expressed disappointment and dismay, requested the order be kept open until they did have stock....all to no avail. There was no budging on it though so that seems to be it.

    They simply haven't got the balls to come right out and say it was a mistake which is the worst bit IMO :mad:

    I think we can all expect a call then and no wine as you were the first to place an order. If they cant fulfill yours then the rest of us wont get ours. Tesco site still shows my order at mo but not due til Friday so no doubt will get call tomorrow.

    It is so stupid of them as they could have got alot of goodwill from this - now they are left with a lot of disgruntled customers who do not believe a word they say.

    If it was out of stock and will be readvertised next week then why can they not send it to us then at the advertised price?

    When I found the page in my history from last week, the wine was still available, but 6 bottles only. It was definitely the same wine, and it was not out of stock this morning. Maybe they have had a run on it today???
    When I called CS this morning, I had the impression that the person I spoke to was being fed a line from her superior. (See my first post from this morning).
    It's the dishonesty that gets to me.

    Mine has been cancelled as well, but no word from Tesco, if I hadn't checked the website after reading this I would have been waiting in for the delivery tomorrow, terrible customer service.

    I ordered two cases and I think I would have been one of the first, so it shouldn't have been out of stock, however it never logged in my 'groceries to be delivered' in my account, I did get an email to confirm my order but nowhere on the tesco site could I find details of my order.

    I should be receiving the wine tomorrow evening and as yet I haven't had any contact from Tesco so what should I do? Should I ring them or play dumb and ring them when it doesn't arrive and then complain?

    What response did that get? I am thinking of saying I will contact Trading Standards with all emails and screen prints when they call me
