tesco.com, Wines of the Loire mixed case quantity mistake [CLOSED]

I also have just had my cancellation call from Tesco. However, the person I spoke to said, after lots of talking round and round, that if I reordered the wine, once it had been delivered, if I had been charged more than I would have originally been charged, to phone in and they would refund the difference. I got her name, it is Ashleigh, spelt that way, she said she is the only one in the building with that spelling of her name and she would arrange a refund. Is this worth trying? For two cases of 12 ordering 4 cases of 6?0

I have written to their Customer services and will be contacting CAB tomorrow.

Is there anyone else who has delivery date of Fri that hasn't had call or cancelled on site yet? What does anyone think about threatening Trading Standards?0

I did the same as JFK, complained that the order was too good and i wanted some form of wine at the price stated!!!
I again spoke to Ashleigh who said that if i reordered the wine when it was back in stock, i would be charged the full amount, but the difference would be refunded.
I am going to do this but can anybody direct me to the wines i need as i can't see them on the Tesco site! Doh!0 -
M & S have got an offer on at the moment for 20% off all still wines when you buy 6 which is a reasonable deal.0

No I have been looking and cant find it either but then thats maybe why they are saying to reorder knowing that you wont be able to :mad:0 -
Here's an extract from Tesco's terms and conditions:
'3. Acceptance
There will be no contract of any kind between you and us unless and until we actually dispatch the goods to you. Your order is an offer to buy from us. Nothing that we do or say will amount to any acceptance of that offer until we actually dispatch the goods to you. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that the goods are dispatched (and not before), a contract will be made between you and us, and you will be charged for the goods.'

We may not get the wine, and they will say they are not obliged to sell us anything at any price, but it's the not informing us and the various different explanations for this that are so dodgy. Someone has certainly had their work cut out updating the wine website today - the wine isn't even appearing now.
Bearing in mind the amount of cash our family puts Tesco's way every week, they certainly owe me a written explanation for this at least.
To think I made the order to save shopping time - now I have to not only replace the wine I won't be getting, but I've spent all day coming back here to see how other people have been getting on!0 -
Yep, mine too cancelled. I do think we should all contact trading standards though and MD even if they are not legally obliged to dispatch. Won't look good on the records.0
