Painfully slow from 9:15 onwards this morning. I looked at those site links sra and MSE is woefully slower than those even on a good day. Hi everyone,
The reports are very usful, please keep them coming in. Can I ask you to please include a little info at the botom of each post? We just need your browser type, ISP, connection speed and your general location (if you are comfortable with that).
Also, do any Firefox users notice a difference when using tabs rather that separate windows?
Thanks for your patience,

The worst hangs I'm getting are when submitting replies. Which is obviously the same window.

No real difference showing here between IE and Firefox, and no difference between tabbing or single windows.MSE_Webmaster wrote:Hi everyone,

I keep coming back to the thing of VB-MSE asking me for a HUGE amount of information via my cookies.
I've done no uploading, and except for mini visits to check the sites pointed to by sra earleir I've not been web wandering.
At the time of writing I've been on-line since about quarter past nine.
I've downloaded 5,034,898 bytes.
I've UPLOADED 7,720,603 bytes.
That's all in cookies to MSE

Big problems with speed this morning. The main site has been fine ( https://www.moneysavingexpert.com ). It's only been the forums that have been lagging (very badly). Some forums/posts were taking over a minute to load.
All other pages are flying for me (every other site I've been to this morning). I did a speed test (3 times at ADSLGuide speedtest) and I'm averaging around 1900Kbps download speed.

I just tried an advanced search on the credit card forum and received the following error message:Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /usr/local/apache/hosts/www.moneysavingexpert.com/WWWDocs/apps/vbulletin/html/search.html on line 975

I've only just managed to get back in after about a 3 hours 'hang'. I could get onto the main site but the forum wouldn't load at all, even leaving it for 20 minutes never bought up an error message, it just sat there with only the bar across the top showing.
I tried again and got exactly the same. It's running slow for me now, I'm on broadband and IE and it is taking about 90 seconds to load each page which isn't usuable, so I'll probably have to try again later.
Forgot to mnetion, I'm using windows XP, Virgin ISP and am in London.
