phones2udirect are not to be trusted.
Contract commenced 02/01/06.
180 days = 01/07/06
Cashback claimed 12/07/06 with O2 invoice dated 07/07/06 [after 180 days].
Cashback sent recorded and signed for delivery
Nothing received.
I have sent numerous emails to them requesting my payment but with no responses.
Paid £30 to take them to small claims court - await result0 -

Also, I purchased a phone in May 2006 for my wife, which terms and conditions apply?
I did not keep copies of them as I did not know they would change!
I have no response from an email I sent to phone2udirect of the terms and conditions versions. can anybody help and advise.
It looks like I may lose my cashback, can I cancel my contract with O2 like the person on here, or can I downgrade to a lower tariff. Has anybody any legal advice on phone2udirect.
Thanks
For your first purchase:
04/01/2006 - version 3.0 applies
For your second purchase, it depends when in the month of May you made your purchase:
up to16/05/2006 version 3.1 applies
17/05/2006-25/05/2006 version 3.2 applies
25/05/2006 onwards version 3.3 applies
EDIT: I have amended the cutoff date above for V3.2 due to an error, pointed out to me by browncrow - as V3.2 and V3.3 overlap by one day, I can't be sure which version applies if you purchased on 25 May. However, it's immaterial as the only difference between V3.2 and V3.3 is the removal of one sentence informing the reader that they should make copies for their records as they cannot return any paperwork. i.e. the terms for cashback payment haven't changed.
The claims window is 14 days for versions 3.0 & 3.1.
P2U increased this to 21 days as of version 3.2.
IN ALL 20ses you should provide your full original invoice for the latest month along with a cover letter to include your full name, address, P2U order/invoice number and the mobile number you are claiming for.
It's only in version 3.2 that they spell out exactly what you should state in your cover letter. I would like to think that they aren't using this as an additional means of reducing the success rate of their customers' claims but in this industry you learn to take NOTHING for granted.
Anyway...if you want a copy of the relevant T&Cs, simply PM me your email address and I will be only too happy to oblige.
best regards

Just received a SPV600 on 12 months free deal from phones2udirect and then started reading some of the threads on here where people have had problems with getting cash back
Are people getting their money or am I better off returning the phone within the 14 days cooling off period ?

The best way to answer this would be to refer you to the poll that I recently posted on this forum. Kepp you eye on it and encourage as many P2U customers as possible to contribute their vote:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=262386
However, I would urge you not to read too much into the raw statistics until there are at least, say, 100 responses as the statistics can be misleading when the sample size is small, especially when you realise that complainers have more to gain from voting than non-complainers.
It will take a much longer period of time to encourage a wider cross-section of P2U customers to come out of the woodwork and cast their vote, irrespective of their treatment.

My advice - RETURN!
You have 14 days to get your cashback claim in from the date on the bill.
Now if your bill is date 1st Oct 2006, you wont get it until the 8th or 9th Oct - leaving you a few days to compile & submit your claim.
And if its delayed in anyway - then you are in deep -doo doo!
I cancelled - mine. I returned teh phone, and they had the audacity to refuse it and send it back!
And the charged me an admin fee.
But it was worth getting out!0 -
You are right - the forums see lots of people who have problems but less people who are happy make any comments - hence my post.

Actually, despite all their other foibles, a bit of pressure applied via Trading Standards has resulted in P2U increasing their claims period to 21 days as of a few months ago. (no doubt customers who purchased prior to the change will still be measured against the 14 day deadline)
Sadly, since then, one or two other retailers have decided to reduce their claims periods to 14 days. One in particular has the audacity to only provide this info on their claims forms so the customer has no way of knowing what the full T&Cs are until AFTER purchase.
I feel another discussion with trading standards coming on...

How amazing you are mrstrong. You have posted twice and both your posts concern how wonderful Phones2Udirect are. Sorry if I am being a bit suspicious, but I smell a rat.0
