I sent my claim June 12th and im still waiting. Ive emailed a few times in between and have also called but the phone is always busy. I tried calling it last night at 10pm and even then it was busy. Looks like we might be edging onto trouble.

I purchased a new mobile from phone2udirect - 12 month contract start dated 24th January 2006. I am due cashback at month 6, 9 and 12. I sent them all the necessary paperwork including my original invoice dated 25-6-06 (that would be bill no.6 from o2). I sent the claim for cash back on 6th July which they received on 7th July (recorded deliver confirmation from royal mail website). Phone2udirect t&cs http://www.phones2udirect.com/customerservices/tandc.asp
Now they have rejected the claim saying I have made the claim 1 month too soon. The date on their letter is 3rd August and I have only received it today i.e. 11th August. The content of their letter can be seen here http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h148/cdtechuk/phone2udirect.png. I would be grateful if someone can tell me what I need to do.

I also learn from my daughter at uni in B'ham who also purchased her phone from them about 2 weeks before me. She had a change of address which was informed in writing to o2 as well as phones2udirect. She also sent her month 6 invoice with all the paper work. Now phone2udirect have sent a letter to her old address rejecting her claim for the exact same reason as mine.

    Thanks.

  • I've just looked at their T&Cs - it says the 6th bill is the bill received after 180 days of connection. So in your case it would be the bill received after 24 July - i.e. you should send your invoice dated 25 July to them.

How many days is their claim window? I think it's 21 days - if that's correct then I suggest you send it off again asap.
  • I have just had exactly the same problem with phones2udirect. I received the same letter as you. I dug out my July bill and posted it off to the sharpish with a covering letter requesting my cashback, and I wait to see what happens.

however, it states in their T&Cs "where a cashback is claimed in installments, claims for subsequent installments are dependant on acceptance of the previous claim". Im not sure if they will use this to wriggle out of paying us the whole lot, as the letter that we have received states " therefore we have correctly rejected your claim". Anyway, I have made a note to send them my October bill as month 9, and January bill as month 12, so we will just have to wait and see. Its a shame as it was a good deal, a brill phone (I got a motorolla L6, inclusive calls and texts) for £30 a month with option to claim the whole lot back by redemption - oh I nearly frgot I also got some money back by going through Quidco. I was also planning on selling the phone via Ebay once I had finished with the contract and got a new deal.

Anyway, I'll let you know if my new claim gets rejected on the basis that I have already submitted a claim for the 6 months that was rejected. if it is, then i fear that we can also kiss goodbye to the 9month cashback and the 12 month cashback too!

uh-of my dates are similar so I guess I will get the same letter in a day or so - cunning use of February being a short month or what...
And had you noticed the online T&C now say no downgrades which they didn't when I signed up
    I think....
  • well, if i don't get my cashback I won't be using them again so they will have lost a potential repeat customer in December!

I'm still waiting for my June claim (6 month), the next one (9 month) is due in Sept. Nothing from them yet.
