Thanks Cookie. I just wondered. They may be taking me to court....
• After some delay and difficulty, I eventually received my 3rd and final cashback cheque. Assuming the correct invioces are submitted (in most cases the will be 7th, 10th & 13th) and all other Terms & Conditions are complied with (note: the applicable T&C's are those in force at the date of purchase), you should be successful provided you are persistant!

It is clear that Phones2Udirect wilfully avoid making payment unless they are threatened with the Small Claims Court. This will normally involve writing as telephoning on the published number is a waste of time but I discovered a quicker more effective way.

I managed to speak to the Managing Director and the result was instant. His name is David Ellis and his personal line number is:01732 765401. His email address is believed to be david.ellis@phones2udirect.co.uk (he does not reply of course, but emails do not bounce back either). According to Company House records his registration number is :12512897 and his home address is listed as: Hartley, Longfield, Kent, DA3 8EX. Unfortunately, I was not able to establish his home telephone number.

Hope this helps

Hopefully it is covered in muck from a local farmer who has had trouble with them too. (not dangerous but very inconvenient)

I wish i had read this thread before starting a contract in Oct, I've used an other cashback scheme, e2, no problem. I even managed to work out what phone2u meant by the 6 month (180 days rather than 6 months etc) and send my claim on time.

Mind you, the idea is that you take a contract through them (with vodaphone in my case) and keep it for the duration. Then prove that you had, so I wonder if all this deliberate 'two step' with when you should send in the proof is really legal?

Thanks for the info Keyman most useful I'll quote it below again

Unfortunatley the number seems to ring twice then cut you off now!!

I've been reading this thread for a while and wishing I had seen it before taking the contract out. Previous cashback deals through others including dial-a-phone have been great and easy if you folow the rules so i han't even considered it could be as bad as this

So I have sucessfully recieved a cheque last week for my first claim (handwritten which in my mind says a lot about how few they actually write!) which was submitted in April and due in June. This took a letter before action from myself following which my local trading standards started writing to them which appeard to do the trick.

Getting the first cheque 2 weeks after submitting the 2nd claim is far from acceptable though.

My partner is a month or so behind me in the process and has just sent her first letter before action which trading standards needed before they would take up the case so fingers crossed.

I would have used the online small claims process but living in scotland stops this ;-(

So far it seems I you have managed to do all the things you are required to and are persistent enough they will pay up and involving trading standards seems to help. I know a company I wont be using again.......

I have used phones 2u direct for two mobiles I got last year and found that they always paid up and usually WITHIN their stated time period of 28 working days. Total cash-back ran to something like £820, paid on the nail. Both contracts were terminated immediately on completion of 12 months.

During and since that period I have taken out two more phones, independently of one another, but these were both from CoolNewMobile. Now, whilst they have been paying up reliably I have to say they are getting ever more tardy, and the last claim took over 2 months to send the cheque - I'm not happy.

So, actually in the next few minutes, I'm going back to phones 2u direct to order another new phone. Yes, I feel that confidant.

However, I must stress that you MUST, MUST,MUST be absolutely precise in complying with every tedious little condition put in your way as a stumbling block by all of these "free" mobile providers. Its how they make their money.

But do it right and you will get your money back, from this lot at least, if you give them no chink to wriggle out of. They've been around a fair bit longer than most who quickly disappeared over the horizon.
The bankers stole my pension (and everyone else's). It should have earned a lot of money, but they took their bonus pot first.

I finally got a cheque out of these bunch of con artists. Dated 2nd August, first part of the claim which should have been with me on the 14th May, but one third of the years claim nonetheless. It has taken a LOT of harassment but finally did manage it. Now of course claim No.2 was due yesterday.......
• Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me with my 12 month cashback details....

I have now successfully received my cashback for months 6 and 9 of my 12 month contract with Phones2UDirect. The 6 month cashback required threatening with the County Court, and the 9 month cashback was sent as good as gold.

I have now completed my contract with P2UD/O2/Carphone Warehouse and want to claim my final 12 month cashback sum of £140.00

My contract started on 31/07/06. I have in my possession, my 12th invoice from CPW/O2 dated 06 July 2007. Is this the final bill that needs sending off?

I am thoroughly confused as my 6 month bill was actually labelled number 7, my 9 month bill = labelled number 10. So does that mean I should have a number 13 bill for my 12 month cashback?

Hope this makes sense to someone as I'm going round the bend trying to work this out!

Thank you!

Hi

I finally got my 3rd and final Cashback from Phones2uDirect after 4 months and 4th warning letter.

All my cashback have come by threatning letters ( for each cash back 2-4)
that I will goto small claims court and charge them my cashback + £30 fee + Inconveience Charges + Interest.

For a 12 month contract - you need to send Bill 7 , Bill 10 and Bill 13 (marked on O2 bill). Bill 13 is Final Bill that comes after your contract has expired - after 12 months - having your final settlements and dues if any. Send this one.

Do not port or Cancel your numbe as I was told by O2 that it will take upto 30 days to get your Final Bill , and so on that advice I kept the same number as I would then exceed 14/21 days and not be eligible for claim. I called up O2 directly to get a chepest new 12 month contract saying that I wanted to leave - haggle with them until u are satisfied. Pleash call your Network Provider and confirm if at all you will get your bill late and act accordingly.

cheers.

• Thanks abeezar.

The problem is, I do not have a bill 13!!!! I have a bill 12 (dated 06 July 2007), and a bill 1 (dated 08 August 2007) as I have taken out a new contract with O2. I called the CPW/O2 to clarify, and they said that my bill 1 is the same as bill 13.

This is all well and good, but we all know too well how difficult it is to get your cashback from P2UD.......

I will just have to send off number 1 and hope they can see that it is the same thing!

Fingers crossed!
