  • Chasing the best cashback is turning into a joke - just received a letter from accucard (fourth cashback card this year) to tell me that my card should arrive in the next few days and that cashback will fall to 0.5% from 1st November. D'oh >:(

    Yep, same here! ::)
  • ACCUCARD reducing Cashback from 0.8% to 0.5%

I presume all the other LloydsTsb stable of cards will follow suit, if considering a card maybe best to get in now on intro cashback rates before everyone follows suit - I'll be ditching this one at the end of the month.

I've got to admit chasing cashback is getting tiresome - I'm thinking about just putting everything through Nationwided. At 0.5% they should be sustainable but since I'm going to continue to hold the card for foreign purchases anyway it opens up a space for another 0% card (to replace my Cap1 which now has a much reduced credit limit and will be cancelled as soon as cashback is collected).
  • Could someone please explain how the "rebate/cashback" works on the Conran Card. Looking to get this as a backup for when AMEX not accepted.

    Thanks
    ???
  • Would really like to hear about this conran card, not sure how it works cash back wise. I too just received my letter from accucard about the reduction and after my amex last month, i'm really looking for a new cashback card.

i was using a combination of amex, accu and morgan stanely, but MS only pay 1% upto £2'000 then .5% after, and now amex and acuu are both only .5 %.

I'm thinking about tesco card for clubcard points but am interested in this Conran card.

Anyone know of any other ggod cash backs?

  • I beleive Conran is guaranteed 0.8% but typically pays 1% as this is a share of proffits.

So if we all moved to Conran, profits would go up and maybe we would get 1.2%!!

  • How and when are the monies earned on the Conrad Card Paid?

Does anyone have any first hand experience of this card?

Answering your last question first, no experience of the card, however have been accepted and am waiting for the card. BTW it is run by MBNA and is a Visa card.

More information on the card can be found at https://www.conran.com/card. According to the website your cashback amount will be determined on 31 March of each year and will show on your April or May statement.

I have had an egg card for over a year. I have accrued £4.40 in cashback but because it is less than £5 they keep the cash and I lose out. When I got the card the cashback % was 0.5 now it is 0.1% so I would have to spend lots more to get my cashback level above £5.

    Can they do this

I never recieved any notification of this happening. The only reason I know is that I queried where the money had gone

I have subsequently cancelled the card

    Not happy

Sometimes changes in T&C are sent with statements or in Eggs case with a statement notification, and are buried in other things. Probably deliberately obscure but not the same as no notification. Are you certain they haven't changed the terms, if so have a go at them.
