I believe that the Leeds and Holbeck Building Society have just launched a Mastercard which gives 1% cash back on the first £2000 and then 0.5% on subsequent balances.
Does anyone know about this, or have thoughts about it? It seems a very good rate.0 -

No problems so far, I will post any feedback here.
(No mention anywhere of a minimum 0.8% cashback though... just says a 'share of the profits'.)

Have gone through the Amex Blue T&Cs and it says the cashback is paid to your account as a rebate off the bill. Is this true? Can Amex Blue holders confirm if they get actual cash or just money off their next bill?0

The last time I had Amex Blue I got my cashback credited back to my account on the anniversary of opening it. All I did was make sure I treated myself to something to the value of the cashback that month and it was credited when the statement came in. Not quite the same as getting a cheque for hard cash, but if you're careful you can still get the benefit of it. I suppose they rely on you overspending every month so when the cashback is credited into your account all it's doing is paying off some of the overspend!
I've relented and re-applied for the Platinum Amex card. Not sure how I'm going to get on.
Are they particularly stringent about who they give it to? I've got no credit issues and never missed any payments, but my wife has a 0% card with about a grand on it so not sure if they'll look at that and offer me the Gold or Blue card instead. Is it worth appealing if they do, or threatening to walk away and take neither?

i am furious!!! but i guess ive been to clever for my own good here. i took out an accucard with the 0.08% cashback offer as seen on this site, but as you well know they dropped thier cashback back to 0.05% so as the rules say - ditch and switch which i done to a more than card. anyway in order to get this card i had to cancel the accucard in order to get it. i made the phonecall to cancel it and then asked how they would pay me my cash back that i had accumulated. they then told me i was not intitled to it as i had broken the rules of the agreement, basically i had not been with them long enough to get the money. what an absolutely disgusting service, this was my money to be had but alas not in thier eyes. so there you have it ditch and switch by all means but make sure you get your money off them first. as for accucard, well im glad i found out now before i put more money on my card in the run up to christmas. im so angry they can do this but the small print tends to win grrrrrrrrrrrrr so 1 card i WILL NOT be recommending to my friends. anyone else had this problem? >:( >:( >:( >:(ALWAYS A PLEASURE AND NEVER A CHORE0

Well now that Accucard have moved their cashback rate down, it's time to move methinks... Off to Conran - just waiting for the application to complete!
Does anyone know how Accucard pay the cashback (just out of interest)...
ThanksAndy Corbett0
