I love sky+ but don't watch channels other than those available for free!
I'd love to know if anyone has been cheeky enough to ask..... I'd definitely pay £10 a month just for sky+......

yes they said they could that for me but they also offered the 66p for 2 months so went with that for now.

sorry to be a pain ... Is there an article on here anywhere that tells you the number to call at sky and what to ask for/say to get your subscription reduced? I have the world package on sky+ and it is the biggest bill I have to pay each month aso I really need to get it cut down , but I am a bit nervous about calling them incase they call my bluff and cancel my sky lol

    any help/advise?

SharonB - I got through to this number this week 0800 587 5707 - when they ask you to press star button etc just don't press anything at any time, eventually you go through.

Don't be nervous, you say you want to cut down - you can reduce your package any time as long as you aren't still in the 12 month contract. They won't cancel just because you are reducing your package.

If they ask why you want to cut down, you just tell them that you are finding it too expensive. The only way they would call your bluff is if you say that you wish to cancel sky altogether (only go down this route if you are prepared to go through with cancelling) and then they may give you an offer to keep you.

You never know, they may give an offer on your full package. What will happen is that when you get through the first person will take your details and ask why you want to reduce your package and then they will put you through to cancellations where that person may give you an offer.

Just remember you are in control of what action you take, and good luck - you may be lucky.

    Hi guys,
Just rang on freephone number and it is working. We have had numerous skybox probs over the last 18 months even having had new box. Don`t even ring them now, just reboot it and it usually works for a while. Having read these threads tho decided to give it a go for an offer. Im on £42 full package. They only offered free service call cos said cannot give two offers at same time but to ring back when box fixed and see what happens.
Basically I want to watch super league rugby and wife likes living tv, itv 2, e4 and possibly discovery. I`m gunna look on their website to see if we can reduce our costs but keep these channels.

Anyway the freephone number is working and I got free service call with the possibility of another offer soon so not too bad.

I rang with a view to cancelling, and I was offered Sky+ for £49 with free installlation, and rather than pay £10 a month for the Sky+ subscription. This would be £31.
I went for the deal they offered of Sky sports, movies 1,3,5,7,9 for an extra fiver. (£36)

I didn't think that was too bad...I will ring later in the year and plead poverty and see if they will drop it again.

Hurrah. I'm pleased with that until someone writes that they have done better!!!! Good Luck

The 66p deal is for people on the basic plus sports package only (or so i was told). As the football season is finshed and the World Cup is on terestrial tv they are doing this deal to hang onto people on the sports package over the summer period.
I was told the 66p is a reference to the 1966 World Cup Win.
If we win it this year maybe it'll be 06p next time!!!!:rotfl:

Sky+ is a recording system that kicks VCRs into a cocked hat.
It lets you record every episode in a series by pressing one button and is so convenient.
We were thinking of getting a recordable DVD but this works fine for us until they come down in price.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
