Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am amazed. Have just rang Sky, I was on hold 50 minutes but didnt worry cos I had looked up the freephone number, got to talk to someone and explained I wanted to cancel who then transferred me to a colleague, (just like everyone here had said) I told him I wanted to cancel as I needed to cut back and he went on to say ok, I have done that your package will terminate on 30 June, OH NO (or similar) flashed through my mind at my hubbys reaction when the chap asked me what we watched the most etc and then offered me 3 months at half price. Totally unbelievable, certainly worth it to anyone to have a go, the only info I needed was my postcode and address details.

Got through on the 08005875707 number straight away ( Don't press the star buttons when prompted, just wait )
I had the full package £42 + and told them I wanted to cancel as I don't watch the movies as they are the same every night, there's no football on and the only thing I'm watching are the free to view channels , daughter watches the music channels and stuff. The only thing I'll miss is "24" on Sky One.
So this nice Scottish gentleman offered me the £21 entertainment pack for six months at 75p per month.
    £4.50 for six months.................YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Thanks for all your info................If you don't ask, you don't get !!

called sky again today. was offered the 75p deal for 6 months. the guy said it was for the family pack...said he would send me a letter to tell me he has done this deal for me. not sure what the family pack is. is that just 2 mixes??? will wait for letter. he did mention all my favourite channels in the package so
i said ok to the deal. my husband is going to kill me if he loses his favourite channels. hehe.

refuse that offer too. there is a big difference in the family pack and two options that are available depends what u r looking for.we have general entertainment and the childrens channels so we have lost out on documentries and discovery at the same point we are £20.25 better off a month.
what you do is say you have thought about it and decided on cancelling it altogether. as others have quoted there is a risk that you might not get a deal. i did

    Hi Scoob,
I've just checked and I'm not getting documentaries and childrens programmes, so perhaps it's the £18 package.
Glad to hear you got the 75p deal.........It's all I need anyway.
Glad I read this forum !!
Good luck to anyone else who gets a good deal...............Sky would have twice the subscribers if they lowered the package prices.

I'd like to get the 75p deal, trouble is, I only really have Sky for the footie...I presume if I did accept the 75p deal I could upgrade in August?

...also, my box is a sky+ box, would I have to pay £10 fee for this if I accepted the 75p deal??

You can upgrade at any time to put the football back on. It only takes an hour or so....if that long.
You would have to pay the £10 for recording facility if you accept a package deal that does NOT include either the football or movies ie premium channels..
They were offering a 66p deal last week for the family pack and sports channels, so say you want to keep the sport and see what they offer you. You can always change your mind at any point during the "cancellation" phone call.

Finally plucked up the courage to phone...

Was offered either 1/2 price for 3 months or 25% off for 12 months...went for the 1/2 price as I felt it was better value and, after the 3 months is up, I can always phone up again! :)

    ...cheers everyone, excellent thread ;)
