tobruk has missed a digit off - the number is 0800 587 5707. DON'T press star when it tells you, just wait...and wait and you will beput through to a cust.serv. rep..

Very sorry to have missed that digit, it must be due to the surprise of getting through!

To answer your question Lady_K, I was on the family package at £21.00 a month, but to take this offer, they were going to take off a few channels which were some music channels which I don't watch, and also some of the documentary channels, which I occassionally watch but can live without, so basically they have put me on 2 channel mix package which would be £15.00 a month. I am quite happy with that as I am not in any contract and am getting a lot more channels than I would have been if I decided to get freeview 'topup'. As I had told him that I would be able to get freeview topup at 7.50 a month - to which he said no £7.99 a month and I said no £7.50, but perhaps he was right.

Anyway, £7.50 for 6 months will suit me fine for now.:)

Hello all. newbie mse poster here.

I have been with Sky for approx 2 years on the Sport World package £36 per month. I have just phoned them on the 0800 number and asked to cancel my subscription. They initially offered me 3 months half price for my existing package. I held firm and said no, they then offered me 2 months of Sports World for 66p per month including my Sky+ subscription.

To say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement! I will be phoning them back in 2 months time to see what deal I can get - I intend to never pay the full price subscription again. Cheers for the advice Martin/all.

All they offered me last time was a measely 20% off I'd like to get half price family pack but not really sure exactly how to try and go about it yet. My 20% off runs out at the end of August but I'd like to try and get half price now if possible
    Thanx

Lady_k, you do not have to wait until August (when the 20% offer ends) to phone them up. They will know by the account information that you are on that offer, and all you have to do is tell them if you like that at the moment things are a bit tight and that you have decided to cancel your subscription and you are thinking of getting freeview. They will then put you on hold to put you through to cancellations who will probably ask again why you want to cancel. After that they will probably say well we can offer you ..........

The thing is, you won't get anything unless you try, and they do not want to lose a customer.

I telephoned around lunchtime to cancel and was first tryed to be talked into reducing my package, i held firm and said i dont watch any other channels than sky sports 2 and the even movie channels on the package deal that i have and eventually he offered me it at half price :)

I was tempted to try and hold out for more but as this will save me over £48 over 3 months then i was happy to take up the offer.
