If you want to cancel, Sky don't currently give discounts on subs. They just offer to reduce your sub.
I got offered 25% off for six months yesterday, but only if i didn't take any other offers i.e. the £59 Sky+ I was offered!

forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong forum.
I subscribe to VM and have put my sky+ box upstairs which I use for freeview.

For past 2 or so weeks, have been getting a message on screen that I need to change the sky card or I'll lose all the free channels.
It got so bad you couldn't watch a program as the message was coming up every 5 mins and the picture was freezing.

I rang up and ordered a new card, guess what? Before I've even had a chance to put the card in, I'm getting no more messages or interrupted viewing. Has anyone else had this? Seems like a bit of a con.
I'll call them and ask them about this later.
  • I have sky plus on the minimum package but i ordered the full sky sports package. For some reason i got all the sports channels except for sky sports extra. I have phoned up on four seperate occasions to get this fixed and the same thing happens they say we will send the signal again and to wait 24 hours to see if it comes on but it never has. They now have the cheek to charge me full price for the sports even though even though i do not have all th channels. Are they allowed to do this?????
  • Was paying Line rental £11, broadband m £20, tv size xl £23 Loyalty discount of minus £19.50 and paper billing and caller display £3.25 and about 5-7 on phone calls, so bill this month was about £42.

Phoned virgin 150 number thinking of leaving option, and said i know a few people who pay about £42 for same as i have (said thought i was on a good deal, but friends are saying to leave and i just thought i might of missed a good deal and was just checking) but with a phone package the £7-8 one, and a Vplus box so normal in one room and vplus in other i presume. So i now have all of the above for 45 with my paper billing and caller display.

Really pleased with this result, and being installed in a couple of weeks ready for xmas!
First time on here hope it is the correct area, ps also followed the phoning on fri at 4.00 tip.
  • Called them today and they said that they switched of the message once I had contacted them. Also, the fact that I now have uninturrupted viewing is merely a conincidence. Most of the free to view channels are being turned off this week, so whether we like or not , even on free view, we have to purchase new sky cards.
    Come the revolution!!!

Ok, but the only Free To View channel that you'll lose (in the absence of a valid Sky card), is Sky3.
