Currently with Sky but out of contract commitment, got offered Sky+ at £59 installed, but still thought this was too much, attempted to haggle, got told the cancellation would be put through for me, they wouldn't budge at all!0

Must be happy with there signups this month.... I'm going to call back at the end of the month.0

I just tried getting Sky HD without Sports or Movies package, and was offered £49 for the box and £60 installation, which on the face of it isn't bad but people on other forums have been talking about getting codes to give to others, both new and existing customers, allowing free box and installation, and only requiring paying for the HD pack with is currently £9.75 a month. Gah! Anyone know of a spare code knocking about...?
By the way, the only way I could contact cancellations was via 08442 414141, as they seem to have shut down all the landline loopholes, but once you're through you just press option 4, option 4 then option 1, which save you about 3p in waiting time!0 -
Have been with Sky for 8 years on the full package and am still on an ordinary box - not Sky+ and not HD. I was thinking of upgrading to Sky+ but have noticed the free Sky +HD offer whch includes existing customers. I haven't got an HD TV at the moment (although I could maybe be persuaded to buy one :rotfl:). I can't tell from the Ts&Cs whether it says explicitly that you must take the HD pack to get the free +HD box. I would have thought you must but can't actually see it anywhere. Could I sign up for the new box but not take the HD pack so keep paying what I am now?
Also, it states in the Ts&Cs that you must have your Sky+HD box connected to a telephone line for a year. I can't connect mine as there is only one phone socket in the house and it's not near the Sky box. Can't do anything about that as I'm currently livig in a rented house. Would there be a problem with this?
Thanks for any help.0 -

You will get the HD Box only if you pay the £9.75 per month and an installation fee ( it is £30). It is pointless unless you have an HD TV. Get Sky+ it is fantastic. You can record 2 programmes on different channels at the same time as watching a previously recorded programme. Or you can record a programme on another station while watching live TV. Then when you play back you can whizz through the ads. Brilliant."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

Any advice re getting multiroom and movies? - Have had Sky for about 2 years, got sky plus, and basic package only. Thinking about getting a movie package and wondering if any chance of getting multiroom a bit cheaper than the standard charge - anyone got any suggestions as to how to cut a deal and what deal may be available? - Many thanks if anyone can help.0

Hi
Just phoned Sky to cancel my subscription because I wanted Sky+ since our area is going digital very soon. On web site it says it will cost me approx £200 to get a box and for installation. I decided to go with VM and their V+HD box instead.
Anyway, I got offered Sky+ for £44 all in!!! So naturally I accepted his offer. Dont know if its an HD box or not, but who cares, I've saved approx £1600
