Signed up on Monday direct with Sky HD for £75 plus £30 fitting. For this price they are also going to fit an Octo (8 way) LNB and relocate my existing multi-room box to use as a freeview box.
Will still be paying extra £10 for multiroom and £10 for HD subscriptioon.
This offer was only available through the "downgrades" department and is conditional upon signing up for a new 12 month contract with at least one premium channel (Movies or Sport).
Did not have to sign up for Broadband or Phone to get this offer.
Can't wait for Saturday for it to be installed.:T0 -
Likewise, I signed up yesterday for the £75 box and £30 installation. They're coming Monday, and will move my Sky + box into another room, at no extra charge.
Of course, they're getting an extra £20 a month out of me, but I reckon it's worth it.C'mon you Canaries!!0 -
Hi everyone. I'm planning to have a sky HD box installed and I'm looing for a good deal. Currently I have EVERYTHING that sky can offer except HD.
What's the best strategy to getting a good deal for sky HD?
Thank you in advance0 -
I have a Sky sports package but not Sky+. Do I have to get Sky+ and a HD box or do they come as one??0

The HD box does everything Sky + does - and some more. It's got a 160GB hard drive for a start which is 4 times more than the average Sky + box (80 hrs of recording) better options in the menus, freeze picture etc. In answer to a previous post as well £255 outlay for the first year is a lot, but you are future proofed for HD channels coming on line and you get full installation, the latest V4 HD box - (as promised by the precinct Sky guy) Sky + moved to another room, new HDMI leads, new LMB on the dish.. and to be honest I don't see it getting a whole lot cheaper than this in the next year or so..... do you??? They are still silly price on Ebay at the moment.A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.0 -

Yuo have to ask for the Sky HD deal, they won't offer it otherwise. It's as simple as that!C'mon you Canaries!!0 -
Just tried to get the deal but they refused to budge. Not sure why. Appart from the fact it is $ky or nothing around here.0

Got it. I phoned up to cancel and they gave it me.
Thanks everyone for the help.

You can get HD television from freesat. There is a one off installation fee then it is completely free. May be worth considering.0

Sky subscription going up again to £47 a month from 1st September
I think its about time sky offered HD free within the current subscription.
