Digital TV Cost Cutting Article - Discuss What You've Been Offered

After cancelling Sky wef 17th Jan, we had a call from the 'Sky Winback Dept' yesterday. He said he wanted feedback as to why we had left. Needless to say I had plenty of 'feedback' to give him, and none of it positive!
The 'deal' that came out of the 30 mins conversation was this:
Sky Sports
Kids Channels
Variety Mix (Sky 1 etc....)
£23 per month.
It suits us perfectly, and as I've previously posted, Sky+ facilities missed most of all, so we have them back now.
No tie-in period, and its on-going.
(He also asked if we needed our boxes repairing or replacing, as he would send an engineer out!)
Hope this helps someone!

what's the situation regarding cancelling if you have a broadband package with sky?
am i right in thinking if you have BB you are tied in for 12 months even though i'm a long-standing sky customer?0 -
Anyone had any cheap Virgin V+ retention deals recently?
I need to downgrade while away on holiday but want to try and tie in a discounted deal by trying to cancel.0 -

You do not need BT to have Sky TV. Only the broadband + phone.
They will tell you that you do need one, as they like you to purchase servies through the interactive phone line, but you don't. We had telewest for years with Sky.
We moved and now have BT (as non-cable area), but even now we don't have the sky plugged in the phoneline.0 -
