they dont do deals nomore, i cancelled mine in feb. I did get a few offers in the post after i had gone though, they was just discounts on new equipment if you go back not on the monthly subscription.
I think sky has people over a barrel really, and they know it.
You still receive freesat once you cancel your subscription. Although on freeview you get more4,e4 and ukhistory.
I am currently thinking of getting sentana sports on my freesat sky, £10pm with no commitment, much better than the £38 i was paying for sky.0 -

Phoned sky about 5 minutes ago stating that as i was coming to the end of my contract and didn't feel i was getting value for money, i was going to cancel. i only have the very basic package and am considering switching to freeview. I was told that they do not offer any special deals and have not done so for the last 12 months and effectivley said 'go ahead and cancel' . Any advice? All comments gratefully received!
did they put you through to the cancellatiojns department
if not ask to cancel and go through to the canellations department and they prob with offer you half price rental for 3 months or 6 months
however it depends on what you watch
i dont watch much sky channels so i didnt pay my bill and they took of the sky channels and i get freeview now apart from e4
all the other channels like horror and reality tv are freeview - any programs you wanna watch just download off the internet - as least you get to see them ahead of when sky shows them0 -

They don't do money off subscription cost deals anymore.. they haven't done for months. No matter if you go through to the cancellations/turn around team or not.. all they offer is free broadband or lower cost sky+ boxes (we don't want to move broadband and we alreadyhave a sky+ box) so basically sod all.
Hence why we are looking into virgin media and seeing what we can get with them.Lost lbs =
Gained £s = Quidco £261.90, Free Fivers £22.26, Matched Betting0 -
Well this is not really a discount but more an accounts error, i was paying £55 a month 2 boxes , world package and multiroom. To cut a long story short, cancelled multiroom, movies and football ( heartbreaking lol) and now have 2 mixes, was quoted £15 a month. My 1st direct debit since is for £7 so not a bad saving of £48 a month and i still have multiroom for some reason with all the same channels as downstairs!0

Currently with virgin for phone and broadband and have been for some time, were also for TV but they didn't have digital where we live so went with sky when we moved. Have been with virgin for about 3 years now and we're considering leaving sky to go with virgin.. for the right price anyway! We are currently on a deal because of problems we had with virgin (not a huge one just phone and 4mb broadband for £17.75 per month) and top package with sky (43.50) so do you think we could wangle a decent long term/lifetime saving from virgin to go back to them for this package:
Bundle £85
VIP
Broadband
Size: XL
Virgin TV
Size: XL
Sky Sports & Movies Collection
V Set-top Box
V+ Service
Virgin Phone
Size: XL
Talk International
Talk Mobile
One off costs
£150.00 Installation
−£10.00 Online discount
Personally i'd like the box cheaper (or free) and to pay no more than £50 for the package to make it worthwhile changing (as we'd be losing sky one etc and we already have a sky+ box so we don't want to fork out again for another box like that really). Do you think we'd be able to do this?
Hello, I got Virgin Media installed for TV service only as already tied in with BT for phone and broadband, I was charged £25 for installation of XL package.
Anyway, engineer came round was excellent and extremely helpful. He said that if we ring back again and request upgrade to Virgin Plus (?) then they would only charge additional £75, install brand new V+ box, and reconnect my existing cable receiver to any other TV in the house on the XL package I currently have, for no extra charge!! (and would work independently from main unit)
Hope this helps

Want Sky Sports dont really wanna pay £19 and not sure I'll use as much as think, do you have to upgrade for 12 months? Can you have a trial month? Do you have a seven day period to change mind?It pays to challenge0

I phoned today on behalf of my parents. They want Sky+. They already have Sky Digital, been with Sky since 1991. They said they had no offers - all we got offered was the box for £99 plus £30 installation.
If I bought a box from eBay would it just be a simple changeover or does something have to be changed on the dish? Their dish is relatively new, they only moved house 2 years ago. I've been on digispy and seen some people have recommended some Ebay shops for the Sky boxes and just wondered if it would be worthwhile to get from there?0 -
We currently have the 6 pack at £21 and have had for several years. Now we want Sky Sports & Sky+. What's the best way to approach this to get say Sky+ for this £49 offer? Any or no chance of a bargain?0

call them up as most customers are being offered the 49 pound upgrade.0
