E4 & More 4 are not free at all on satellite, you must subscribe to see them but Film 4 is free to view (meaning you need a viewing card but no subscription to watch it) on satellite.0 -
The reason E4 ands More4 aren't on Freesat is that they have an exclusive satellite carriage deal with Sky at the moment which doesn't run out until next year. There is no such deal covering DTT therefore are available on Freeview. However there is good news on the horizon. Channel 4 is currently in negotiations with the BBC to carry all of their channels on the developing BBC Freesat service."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Hi - After reading the article on haggling, I rang my supplier, Virgin Media, armed with how much I could save if I moved to Sky and TalkTalk - and lo and behold, my monthly bill dropped from £59.95 to £39.50! This is for 12 months, when it will go up £9.95, but is still cheaper than now. This will save me a whopping £245 this year. Thanks Martin!
ps it took about half an hour to do, and I had to put up with a lot of whaffling from the customer services guy, but I stuck to my guns and just kept asking him why I shouldn't move when I could get a much better deal.:T0 -
They have a certain amount of graded boxes per retentions rep for the week. I called on a Friday and the guy told me this himself. At the start of the week they are a bit 'tight' offering these deals!
Try again on Friday and see how you go
I left Sky about 4 months ago (was all on all singing 43.50 package). I reckon I've been rung over a dozen times now. Latest offer last night was free sky + box and 10% of any package bundle.
Freesat has most things I want. Shame about E4 and More 4 though. I may try for 50% off tha basic package. £7.50 a month to have sky+ seems like an OK deal if I can get it0 -
I have been a customer now for years, and now even get my calls and broadband from them.
I have tried alsorts to try and get the sky+ cheap, or free. Including cancelling my subscription. I was told to go ahead, and started to process over the phone. I phoned them back the day before cancellation, as I had heard nothing.
At one point I blatantly phoned and asked them for a deal, and a really nice guy, or so I thought, was going to give me a call back, and do a deal. Free connection, and the box for £49. Never heard a thing since. I phoned back, and no-one knew what I was talking about.
A few months ago, I started harassing them via their site, on their recommend a perk. Hopefully they will get fed up of me.
I dont mind paying some money for the box, but I do not see the justification in paying £99 and connection.
Any more suggestions, or any help from any sky workers out there, is appreciated. Footie season is fastly approaching, and I'm surrounded by a house full of footy mad fans.0 -
Turning on and off has got sky in a spin they are giving me the full package when I only pay for half of it they also added £30 to my sky account last week for taking maoney while I should have been canceled down. Just turn it on and off as you need it they always mess up then don't take any nonsense from them and demand they put it right. If they gave an offer more people would be happy and it would cut the cost of staffing the phone.
Also saw a thread last night about sky scrapping the 0870 number but I don't think I can put a link on here? The measure of love is love without measure0 -
We live in an area where reception is not the best, unless it is satellite.
Right now we are with Sky but am fed up of paying £38/mth just for the sake of the Sports channels.
Does anyone know if I can find an alternative, please?0 -
Hi all,
This is Kerry who offered to help in previous posts.
Unfortunately due to helping so many people previously and getting caught( taking advantage) I have now been sacked.
I apologise to the people I offered to help but was unable to do so. All I can now offer is advice.0 -
