After Watching Martin On The Wright Stuff This Morning I Rang Virgin To Tell Them I Am Not Satisfied With Their Service.
They Have Offered Me £25 As An Apology0 -
still haven't heard from sky..........account ended on 23/7/07 and i was expecting a call or mailshot by now asking me to come back but nothing!!!!!!
obviously they can afford to lose their longstanding, loyal customers who subscribed to a premium package?!?!?
i'm desperately missing sky sports!!!0 -

ive seen a lot of posts from people that say all they want is sky sports and a broadband connection, one of the biggest cons with pay tv has been that people have had to buy into packages they dont want in order to "buy" sky sports.
sky and the premier league sell premiership rights all over the world, most of which gets streamed back through a pc, added advantage of being able to watch games live that are not shown in this country live eg 3pm on a saturday, some games have english commentary others dont , pictures are from sky but obviously not a clear or as good as if you were watching a digital production via a tv, advantage is cost is zero :j  :j
theres numerous such sites heres one that i use mainly as it indicates which streams have english commentary.

Been with Telewest/virgin 3 years and decided to have a go at haggling. I've got Virgin (formerley Telewest) and had
4Meg Bband - £25.00
XL Tv package - £15.00
Bog standard phone - £10.50
Extra set top box - £10.00
Total - £60.50
I thought this was too much so rang them up (dial 150). When I got thru I asked for my MAC address, even though I knew cable don't have them it's just BT lines I thought it would be a nice touch to add credibility to the fact I was thinking about switching. Told the guy I was thinking of moving and was looking at Sky prices which seemed much cheaper. (Incidentally, I wouldn't cancel and move to sky as I'm very happy with the service from Virgin - hardly ever any bband or tv downtime).
So the fella put me on hold for literally 1 minute while he saw 'what he could do with the offers available'. After a bit of umming and ahhing from me my package is now
20Meg Bband
XL Tv package
Bog standard phone
Extra set top box
Total - £40.50
Result!! This price is only for 1 year but he more or less told me to contact them again next year for pretty much the same treatment.0 -
Having missed out on the movies for £1 for three months tried to downgrade my existing full package (sports and movies) by removing the movies. Hoped to get some type of deal but all I got was 'I can do that now, will take a couple of minutes to take effect'. Managed to stop them as have various films on Sky+ box which would have got lost.

I am currently and have been for the last 5+ years subscribing to SKY on the premium package currently £43.50 soon to be £44.00. I was originally going to cancel all together in disgust at yet another price increase but my son has pleaded tears and all not to cancel.
The dilemma is if I reduce down to the entertainment pack (6 mixes) @ £21.00 will I also have to pay £10 per month to retain my SKY+ facility? I thought I read that they were scrapping the £10 charge in July?
Can anybody definitely confirm if this has happened? If so I will live with £21 per month for the time being, unfortunately we have no alternative in our area as the local council have denied the cable companies permission to install the necessary infrastructure. It really galls me that Murdoch has me in a rock and a hard place. :mad:0
