I just called Virgin and asked about V+ and how much it would be, well they talked about 3 for £30 and then £10 on top , plus a £75 install cost. They would not budge at all on anything ,especially not the install cost, where am i going wrong0

I visited sky counter in a shopping center two weeks back and was offered refurbed sky+ box for £49 or new box for £159 but I would have had to pay £10 per month for sky+. Called him again yesterday same deal offered but without £10 per month.
Decided to take the plunge with refurbished box for £49. Engineer coming on Sunday. :j
Regards,
Dan
PS: I called sky on 0870 number before calling that guy and they were only offering a new box for new customers for £159. :rolleyes:0 -

Phoned the 01506 number last week - to cancel.
Was offered free sky+ box and free installation as I had been a valued customer for years etc. Box installed yesterday - all seems to be ok so far.
Wouldn't have known acout this but for this site.
Many thanks0 -
Just to update.
Had my free Sky+ installed today. Brand new box, not a refurb. Up and running ok. Engineers were really friendly.
Couldn't be happier. Seems like you can get things for free sometimes.:j0 -
Fitted today
box looks like its new
The engineer replaced our old (big dish) and relocated it on the roof so its hidden
I no longer have 30 metres of white cable snaking thorugh my lounge and dining room
A RESULT
Thank You to this site and the kind people who post their information:j:j:j0 -

Best thing to do is know what package you want and then phone them up and haggle. I did this for the 2 mixes and I was told £15/month, told the guy it was too expensive so he offered it to me for £10/month which I also refused as I was with Telewest at the time. A few months later during the Sky V. Virgin battle I called up again, but they would not budge from the £15/month!!!! Then a month later I got a special 6 month package for 2 mixes for £75. Yep it works out more expensive that the £10/month I was offered previously but the 6 month contract makes up for it and thanks to this site, I will have a good idea what to haggle for when the time comes!:D0 -
 Just got free sky plus and installation, after mentioning wanting to move to virgin. Talked myself into forking out an extra tenner to have old box in bedroom, does anyone know if you receive the free channels without a sky card? Might talk myself out of it, if I can get them. Thanks to this site. xxx :money:0
