Is the £20 broadband activation fee being waived, in addition to the £20 credit you have been given ??

    Thanks

i have just phoned up and cancelled, i got offered nothing!!! the retensions guys seemed very board and tried to get me to keep sky but put it on pause, which after letting him rattle on for 10 minutes about, said no thanks to. As i said who knows if i want to come back might be a better cable package.
Tried to talk about the benifits of broadband but told him i was ok for that, tried to tell me about prem plus and that this would be free next year, said thanks but my team are championship and they are in the play offs and maynot go up.
Hes obviously run of of this weeks retention offers so i made sure he had me down to be cancelled, he was really pushing this pausing the sky account for several months as he said i would have to give a months notice and this will be cheaper, i said not really as i could reduce my package for the last month to the basic package and i might not want to come back any way.

SO i am a little annoyed that i wasnt offered any thing but i have a whole month to go yet. never know might let it expire and then try and pick up a new customer deal or a come back to sky deal.

Did they charge for moving the old sky tv upstairs? and will there be a charge on top for having that one running upstairs too each month?

What is the biggest hardrive they have on the sky plus boxes now?

I thought I read somewhere on here that people were saying tv V+ boxes were better than sky+ for some reason is this right?

activation fee waived on broadband and £20 credit no extra charge for moving box upstairs but will have to watch the same channels but cant be upstairs and downstairs at the same time anyhow

extra bonus being do not have a normal ariel so without sky box cannot get tv in bedroom anyhow

my advice is be very nice very chatty and dont be scared about pushing for a little more and then when you get it a little more again

Just got rang after being without sky for about 4 weeks.
Got offered almost the same as other people. I was on 4 mix package only.
So got free sky + box, (no mention of being refurbed) free installation, £20 credit to go until they scrap the £10 + charge.... and I don't quite get this, but it costs me £9 a month for 3 months for the 4 mix package........ then I can cancel or whatever.
I'm confused how he worked it out, but I'll see when the letter arrives.
Does sky + need any extra cabling?

    yes its 12 months
we havent had to pay for the sky+ box, or the installation.
Its worth it to us to pay £15 or so additional rental until July and then its free of charge anyway. We subscribe at £15 per month currently
We have broadband through talk talk

    Hope this helps someone!

    3 month contract for me

How did you manage to get a 3 month contract?? I am on a 6 month contract with 2 mixes for £75 with a standard box which I got recently thanks to the people over on HDUK, but was not offered a Sky + box unless it was a 12 month contract +£49 +£10/month, so you are really lucky if you got it on a 3 month contract

Been reading this thread today and took the plunge used the good reason that everybody was using 'just changed jobs different shift pattern' was going to virgin media as they had replay and i would not miss my programmes, gave me the same speel 'you can have a sky+ box for 49.00 no installation and no extra charge even keep same package. with this i agreed then he went into general chitchat about how he had just given the guy before me the same package as he had just changed jobs and would miss his programmes he thought it was strange, quickly went into overdrive and told him i had just qualified as a nurse (only job i could think of with shift patterns) and i had a new position in the local hospital, guess what his bloody partner had just qualified as a nurse and he started asking me all questions about the job to compare with hers i didn't have a clue what he was going on about made my excuses and hung up. thanks anyway to you all for the hints and tips.
