Just phoned up and said i wish to cancel because i work all hours of the day that vary week to week and so never get to see the shows i want. and he asked if i'd ever considered sky plus (i said, ooh what's that?), so i'm getting a refurbed box, free installation and no monthly charge (well, a £20 credit to take us until july) and then free!

I was just about to post about this offer as I have just been offered the same deal except the guy didn't mention that the box would be a refurb (although it probably will be). I was very dubious about this being a genuine offer but If I'm not the only person being offered it, surly it's genuine?

One point to note is that the offer is tied to a 12 month contract.

We've had the full Sky package for years incl Prem Plus but when American Idol has ended on ITV2 we are going to cancel as the £43 odd a month is too expensive.
    Any suggestions?

I cancelled a couple of months ago but never actually cancelled the direct debit from my bank account just in case they got back to me with an offer. Do you think I should delete it from my account?
    Thanx

Sky customer for 6 years or so.
    Previous package 2 mixes £15pcm

Called sky 09/05/07, went through to cancelation dept with threat to cancel was offered free sky+ box , free install and no additional monthy fee.

Was advised Sky+ subscription to be scrapped from 01/07/07 , will recv £20 credit to cover £10 charge until then , and free from there on in.

Note this was for brand new sky box not recon - Looking forward to install 14/05/07 :rotfl:

Its there for the taking !!!

Shame Bt want £125 to install line for sky broadband - any advice would be appreciated.

Installed today, :rotfl: appears to be a new box (white pace box) forgot to check with engineer - how do you check if new / recon ??

Engineer also provided telephone extension and some connectors required for eye thingy to enable viewing in another room. happy days :T

Phoned sky last night using the geographical number from say no to 0870(don't press any options and you get through to customer services), instead of trying to cancel my subscription to see if I get an offer I asked to downgrade from sky world package to the 6 mix. I was put through to retentions and offered sky world package for £30 for 3 months.
I accepted the offer and will try again in 3 months.
Reading through this thread Sky seem to be accepting cancellations instead of giving offers when you go down the cancellation route so I thought this might be of interest?

Now on a 2 mix selction with Sky+ for £15 per month (previously would have cost £25)

Just got off the phone to Sky Custome Services (01506 831783).

Said I would need to cancel as my change in work pattern means that I don't see enough TV to justify the £37 subscription. After a few questions I was transferred to cancelations.

Spoke to a nice Scottish lady - she said I really needed Sky + and I was immediately offered a brand new Sky+ box for £49 + free fitting. Installation next Weds.
