Just wanted to share this with everyone trying to get a sky+ deal. I Have just received a card from Sky today titled 'Come back to quality TV with free Sky+'. The bullet points below it state:

* Free A Grade Sky+ box (A grade defined as "Refurbished Sky+ box and is provided 'as new'.)
*No monthly Sky+ subscription wih any sky TV package.
*Free standard installation

says offer ends 1 June 2007

Hope this helps the people not finding the deals as this would seem to be open to all non-subscibers.

Sky have called me the last couple of days while I was out - am fascinated to see what offer they'll give me to return. I already have Sky+ which I pay the tenner a month to keep active.

I honestly don't know, he asked me if I was interested in Sky+ I said not really, I already have a hard drive recorder and he asked why I don't have sky anymore, I just said I came to the end of another half price six months and it wouldn't hurt me to go without sky for a while.
Then he just offered me the deal I posted on the previous page.

Hi everyone, posting this hoping it helps any sky digi subscribers looking for a totally free upgrade

After reading several threads about the sky+ offer leaflet, I thought I would give it a go. Rang 08706080431 and said I was calling about the free sky+ offer (I didn't say I'd actually recieved one :rolleyes: ), lady said 'oh, so you were with sky previously?', I said we are with you now (2 mixes £15 per mth) and also for broadband (£10 per mth) then just left it at that.
She took my address, confimed our current package, said the offer is a free refurb sky+ box (with a 12mth warrenty), free installation and the £10 sub waived for the next two months then scrapped altogther. Then she said 'when would you like it installed?' :j
Result! Engineer coming out this friday

Hope this helps someone, I may have been lucky with who I spoke to as she was really lovely and friendly

I am on the freesat with sky and I'm getting this message on all channels

'Technical fault on this channel, please try later'

Its been like it for about an hour has anyone else had this problem?

Try switching everything off at the plug for a couple of Mins then switch back on.

Switch it off at the plug, then hold down the backup button on front of machine...keep holding it down...turn power on whilst still holding it down until all the lights on the front come on (about 10-15 secs) then you can let go.

system will update software...takes about 10 mins and it should be good until next time

I have to do it about once a fortnight due crappy sky+ boxes!

I'll try it but I'm not on sky+ its just the ordinary box.

Just been told because i'm an existing customer that i can't have the free sky+ but he did say have i received a mail shot & i said no
