i'm certain they must log the offers you've had previously and calls you've made.

As i said in my previous post, they put in writing everything that is said when you call.

I remember Kerry advising that it was best to call through on certain days, but I can't find that post anymore; does anyone remember what the days were?

The week goes from Friday to Thursday, this is important because each advisor only gets a set number of "deals" to offer customers each week. No-one wants to "give them away" on the first day and no-one has any left by Thursday, so the best days to call are Tuesday and Wednesday. Weekend staff and evening staff have their own small allocation of deals.
These deals can ONLY be used when the customer states they wish to cancel. You would be penalised if you gave a deal without the customers stating clearly that they want to cancel, so it’s very important you do this.

    I'm not sure of that.
I've used various !!!! and bull stories in the last few years.
Just checking my records I see that in the last 2 years I've had
    3 deals @50% for 3 months ,1 Deal @40% off for 2 months and 1 deal @50% off for 6 months.
15 months out of 22.(Sky Sports World package all that time)
I'm currently on 10% off ;as I'm in Ireland.
They offered me 20% off if I recommitted for 6 months which I declined.
I'm planning to switch to cable in the next few weeks so I wont try and blag a free Sky+ box off them.

    Hi,

If you use BT as ISP, you ought to check out their new TV service 'BT Vision'. Theres a one off fee of £90 for it to be installed and connected (the box is free) and it gives you Sky Plus functionality on Freeview channels for FREE!!

And the best bit is you can watch films and Tv programmes 'on demand' and you only pay for what you watch!! (Typical current film is £2.99) So no more £30 + a month to Mr Murdock for channels and films you don't watch!! At the moment there's no sport but apparently there are plans for that too!

I've had it since January and I'm delighted with it. I can't quite believe it's a good deal and it's from BT! How did that happen???!!! Oh but you must have BT as your ISP - only drawback I can see!!

I hope this is of interest!

How much on average do you pay per month and how much tv do you watch?
Does this come through the aerial?

    Hi,

To be honest the Freeview Sky Plus functionality is so good we very rarely make use of the on demand content. The other thing to say about this is that it truely is like Sky Plus in that if a programme's time changes or it's not on for a week the box knows and adjusts accordingly.

Also, I probably did't make this clear before, the Freeview channels are received through your aerial so you need to be in a freeview area but they are totally free as is the Sky Plus functionality (unlike Sky).

I'd say on average we might watch a film a month via the on demand service which equates to £2.99 a month.

They also do inclusive packages too so if you think you're going to use the on demand side a lot you can pay a standing charge but I would recommend seeing how you get on on the pay as you go tarrif.

As I say I can't get over how good it is. I really hope it forces Sky to bring their extorionate prices down. They only missing ingrediant at the moment is sport which doesn't bother me as I don't watch it but I can see that this would be a factor for sticking with $ky!!!

  • I called about opening a second account as I will be spending time "Up North" in the future and want to keep my beloved and her kids happy ( and me on extended visits ) by maintaining Sky HD "Down South".

I said there must be some good deals for existing Sky customers opening a second account. The operator said he was sure he could find something.

I ended up with the full Sky HD package ( I currently pay something like £47 a month ) for £21 a month for 12 months.

Thanks to Money Saving Expert that is!!

 God i am so mad with sky i have sky plus and weeks later i thought i would get sky multiroom for two of the bedrooms , well Wednesday i put my order in and paid by debit card she went over everything and she said the only day someone could come out was Tuesday so i said OK it would mean me having to cancel my hospital appointment because it was a all day call , so i did cancel this appointment so i would be at home , but Saturday the post come and when i looked there was only one viewing card so i went on the phone to ask why? she had a look and said this is because you ordered a sky plus box, i said i didn't i ordered multiroom for the two bedrooms , i did not order a 2nd sky plus box.
I asked if they could not just pick up the two sky boxes ? I was told no they will have to cancel the order and put the money back on my debit card ,but she said it could take 14 days ,by this time i was very upset because i canceled my hospital appointment .
I just don't what went on because we went through everything with the order, and i said it will be great having sky in the two bedrooms .
My new hospital appointment is now for July i have 5 disc's out at the bottom of my spine so I'm always in a lot of pain , so now its just a waiting game to see when i will get the money back on my card.
So please take care when you put your order in.
Dont be offended but surely your priorities are some what....wrong. the choice between sorting out a painful back problem or waiting in for sky tv?
