Hi folks,
Thanks for all the tips. I'm after a bit of advice. I have been on sky for 3+ years on the top package. Ive also just signed up for sky broadband. Im after a Sky plus box and trying to find out a way of getting a cheap one.
Ive tried a few friends under the recommend a friend programme but they are not interested as they cannot afford it. Is anyone on here going to get a new sky subscription and they could do it under the Sky plus refer a friend promotion? I'd be willing to pay £25 to anyone who would help me out once i received the Sky plus box.
If not does anyone have an email address for sky so i could try and get a sky plus box for £49.99 with free install as it is a lot cheaper that the 160 it would normally cost.
Also, im on the full package. Do you think if i ring them up and say im a bit skint with it coming up to christmas they would chuck in a discounted subscription.
Any tips or help to get a cheap sky plus box would be much appreciated.
Cheers

just gave them a call on the 0800 number and went through to cancellations/turnaround and tried to blag that i thinking of switching to cable. Was trying to find out if they have any offers on Sky+. I was trying to see if i could get sky +for 49 with free install.
They said that they had no offers on at the moment. Although this may have been down to the fact that i am stuck in a 12month contract as ive just signed up for sky broadband! Damn
Just looked over the refer a friend offer again and it works out i'd still have to pay 60 installation as i dont want multi room. So much for free hey. If anyone is taking out a recommendation feel free to get in touch.
Cheers

Having had Sky for 12 years and never any deals/offers thought I would ring up and see what I would be offered in relation to Sky+
Initially offered box at £99 plus £60 installation. Said (truthfully) a friend had been given it at £49 - so put on hold and then yes - I could have it at £49 but would have to take multi-room.
I am on a £21 per month package - £10 Sky+ and £10 multi-room would practically double my monthly fee. They would not budge on a deal without multi-room
Is this worth it and does anyone think it is a good deal?

Same offered to me. It basically means that you get the multiroom for £10 for the year so is worth it.scandarahar wrote:Having had Sky for 12 years and never any deals/offers thought I would ring up and see what I would be offered in relation to Sky+
