so about £400 to get up and running for 12 months which is less than it costs me to have sky sports world for a year (£444).

on going costs of £90-£120 a year.

    only one winner there..................
I just set up a motorised system .
I also have Sky ,Sports package ,half price till Mar 07.
Cost for motorised system was about €260 ~ £175
    1m Dish ,€32
    LNB,Platinium Edition II lnb 0,2 db,€14
    Disecq Motor ,€59
Technomate 1500 CI Receiver (Built in Omni Cam) €150
    Coaxial Cable €5.
    All new equipment.
Cant go wrong for the price, took me a while to get it set up correctly but its feasible to self install .
  • got a couple of questions here.
    1) the house we moved into has the dish and cabling set up already, do we get a discount because of this if we phone them at all being a new customer?
2)we dont want mulit room but want the magic eye thing in the 2nd room whats this called and how muich does this cost to be fitted .

    thanks
  • Hi,

We currently have sky+ and have questioned the price for multiroom.
£49 for standard box, £99 for sky+ box - both including installation.
Told them i already have a standard box from when i upgraded to sky+, so they have offered me the sky+ multiroom for £49 - saving £50.
I'm being a good boy and discussing with missues before ordering :o

To answer question 2 - the magic eye you can pick up for under £10 - just do a search on froggle - it's self install and will require a coxal cable running between both tv's. The other option is to buy a video sender - which connects wirelessly - these cost in the region on £40 upwards Here is an example - though i believe you can get cheaper in Tesco.
We tried one of these but there was no picture consistancy from 1 day to the next and had to keep altering the antenna.
With both devices you can only watch upstairs what the sky box downstairs is tuned into, but can operate with the exsisting remote from upstairs.
  • We order sky+ multiroom for £49 - installation this Saturday :j
Ruffmeister - you may be interested in this thread for a video sender @ £19.99

Does anyone know if you change your channel selections (just seubscribed to none sky extra channels) whether it updates with the phone line unconnected?
  • another question, if i have multiroom, one box with a card in and another without, will i get my full package on the one without the card in or just freesat?

    Hi everyone

I gave 30 days notice at the end of October thinking I would get a deal, no such luck, obviously just missed the deals that were going!!

So they disconnected me on 1st Nov. I just received a card from SKY today asking me to come back but all they are offering is a measly 3 months at half price. I really wanted a deal on SKY+ and 6 months half price.

I might give their 08706 080 433 number a phone (quoting Lost 1) and see what deal they will give me for SKY+. This offer also includes a free sky box, mini dish and free installation if I need it so surely they will have an offer on SKY+ boxes???

    Hi,

I was hoping to find out myself what Sky will offer once my disconnection has gone through and I think it will be similar to what they have offered you, so thanks for letting us know!

I would recommend reading through my earlier posts that involve Ludds123, who seems to manage the impossible (using the same telephone numbers that we all use). Therefore Ludds123 might be able to give some pointers about how to get 6 months half price (maybe even more...) and all he said was christmas costs too much and did not even threaten disconnection !!
