Still nothing here, though it is an internet savings account i have with halifax not a current account. Has anyone been able to transfer from savings? Cheers

I've just opened a new A&L a/c and managed to FP £2.00 from my Halifax current a/c (although I don't have access to the A&L a/c online yet, but it seems to have gone off ok!)

I'd tried sending £1 from my Hfx websaver but got the usual message about it going the next day.

So it seems the Current a/cs can but the Savers can't (at the moment) - although the "Why not send a Faster Payment" message comes up for both accounts.

I sent £35 from Halifax to A&L last night, it said it couldn't do it faster payment style but is in and cleared in A&L today, excellent!

All 'Faster Payments' made from Halifax receive individual acknowledgement emails, I've noticed.

Yes, I got one for my £2 sent from the current a/c :)

Do they still send an email if it's a payment that they tell you (on screen) won't go as a FP but then it does (like in sammyjammy's case above).

I'm off to send one from my Websaver a/c to see what happens ;)

Oh :( It just says it'll be sent on the 27th. I'll see if it's gone in the morning.

Have you discovered this by varying the amount until the on-screen message changes, or something like that?

    Thanks

I tried a payment of £100 and it showed on screen that the transaction will go through faster payment and will be there within 2 hours.

I then tried £101 and the screen showed that the transaction will go though using the bill payment service which takes 3-4 days.
