I haven't got a BT line as far as I know so presume I can't get this offer! I pay Virgin Media for my TV/Cable/Phone and Broadband. Can I switch to a BT line? If I can, whats involved and how much will it cost?

The normal installation charge for a BT line is £129 but see this thread here if you want a BT line installed much cheaper.

Yes I pay BT line rental separate, however since I don't use my house phone much, I only pay just over £16 per quarter in line rental.

Can I ask how do you manage to only pay just over £16 per quarter in line rental? Do you not pay BT £10.50 a month for line rental?

Some obsolete O2 PAYG tariffs seem to get better free benefits for a £10 top-up. I just found an old sim that gets 100 free minutes, in contrast to the equivalent new tariff seems to gets a much less useful 50 minutes.

On top of the freebies, this is going to build up a lot of unused call credit for many people. Are there any ways of extracting any cash from a PAYG balance, perhaps via some premium rate service or betting or something? Any links appreciated.

My MAC is still not arrived after 7 working days after my request from BT. Are there anyone else having same problem of getting a MAC code? Would anyone give me some advices on how to obtain it?

    Many thanks

My isp zen stated it could take 14 days, although they actually sent it next day. You don't actually need a MAC before you apply for this offer anyway, despite what it says on the page at the start.

Great Question! Shame I can't give an answer, but I would be interested to know if anyone has info on this....

Warning about delivery if you are not home: Despite O2 announcing that they would send a further message in advance of delivery, allowing the choice of an alternative date, they simply sent my router next day with no warning at all. The courier they used www.dpd.co.uk/callingcard allows you to tell them a safe place to leave it if you are out.

There is a notice at Quidco that this offer ends at midnight today (31/10/08)
  • Just signed up for this to get the cashback ... we are currently with Orange and the contract for that is up (along with the OH mobile contract, he now has a company phone) on 6th Dec. We have asked for the MAC code, which by all accounts was like getting blood from a stone.

Does anyone know if the cashback will be honoured as the order was placed today even though the MAC code is not available for possibly the next 14 days?

(also will Orange cahrge anything if the code is used before the 6th or as we will have pd for this months usage will that be ok?)

You will still have to pay Orange up to the end of the minimum term.
