I have had o2 BB for the last 2 weeks an I am very impressed.

However, I have a security issue......

I have the wireless box with my PC hardwired to it rather than using the wireless connection. However, my neighbour is able to pick up BB and I'm hoping it's not from mine.

Is there a way to disable activity other than from my own PC?
  • You can turn wireless off by pressing the button on the front I think.

You could also change to WPA security or hide the SSID. I got an email from O2 the other week advising how to.

It's on their help and support pages which look down currently.

Can anyone confirm this to be true (cashback on any of the O2 broadband packages

If you want to be absolutely sure, order the stated package via quidco, then when the cashback comes through, upgrade. (Up and downgrades are allowed without penalty by o2).

Thanks Quentin for the information, that's a good idea and one I will do.

Just to update my query, I have had confirmation from Topcashback that all three broadband packages support the cashback. they said:

"I have double-checked the information for this cashback offer and this is payable across these packages, providing of course that you purchase is approved and subject to a contact of at least 12 months."

thinking of changing my isp from metronet.to O2
we have a bt line paid through tesco for our home phone.
my wife has a mobile phone and pays her bill to O2, the account is for a "pay up front for life "
(she has had this sim card for quite a few years) she does not need to "top up"
she just has to pay for her calls.
could she just sign up for O2 broadband? i have tried her number in the registration details on O2 site and it comes up with a fault)
i suppose i could transfer my mobile from vodaphone to O2
anyone any opinions of this i would gladly appreciate it

The offer has now changed to £25 cashback from Quidco.

Does the £60 offer disappear and then reappear or is this it gone for good?

It does change periodically but who knows if it will ever be £60 again.

I doubt this. You do not need to use their dongles for desktop computers so I see no reason why this should be required for laptops.

Alternatively you can, of course, just use the included ethernet cable.
Because laptops are supposed to be mobile, so using an ethernet cable somewhat defeats the whole point of having a laptop.
Thanks to all who post constructively.
