Depending on call prices, it may be better to transfer the o2 mobile to a top up payg service (as you already have the sim & phone number).
My wifes little used mobile is o2 payg and she has to top up min £10 every 3 months to qualify for the £7.50/m 8meg broadband. Top up also qualifies for 10% o2 top up rebate.

Could someone tell me what O2 do when you are deemed to be over-using their product? Do they slow you down for remainder of month? The reason I ask is that I live in a household where I rely on the computer for my work BUT where 2 teenagers and 1 20-something use it for entirely different purposes. As a result, we use in excess of 15GB a month. I need to know that even with this amount of usage I will still be able to get on and at a reasonable speed.

A usage of 15GB per month is not a problem!

Agreed. There should be no issues with that and apparently they have never limited anyone, I think I read. Either way you'll be fine.

This weeks e-mail 32 December says you can get a free O2 SIM card for which you pay £10 every 3 months.
When I checked on the O2 site the only SIM card offer is for £10 per month

Today's MMT shows this offer is back. It says until Jan 9 but I cant see anywhere at Quidco where that date applies.

I'm interested in signing up for the O2 Broadband deal via quidco (I'm already an O2 customer) but I currently pay Onetel for my line rental and calls. Does this mean that I would have to change back to BT to get O2 broadband?

Just to confirm Quidco have updated their site to confirm as follows:

"For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:

Interesting to note on the new offer that, at the moment, both PREMIUM & PRO packages also have the first 3 months of a minimum 12 month contract free.
