thinking of changing my isp from metronet.to O2
we have a bt line paid through tesco for our home phone.
my wife has a mobile phone and pays her bill to O2, the account is for a "pay up front for life "
(she has had this sim card for quite a few years) she does not need to "top up"
she just has to pay for her calls.
could she just sign up for O2 broadband? i have tried her number in the registration details on O2 site and it comes up with a fault)
i suppose i could transfer my mobile from vodaphone to O2
anyone any opinions of this i would gladly appreciate it
My wifes little used mobile is o2 payg and she has to top up min £10 every 3 months to qualify for the £7.50/m 8meg broadband. Top up also qualifies for 10% o2 top up rebate.0 -
Could someone tell me what O2 do when you are deemed to be over-using their product? Do they slow you down for remainder of month? The reason I ask is that I live in a household where I rely on the computer for my work BUT where 2 teenagers and 1 20-something use it for entirely different purposes. As a result, we use in excess of 15GB a month. I need to know that even with this amount of usage I will still be able to get on and at a reasonable speed.0

A usage of 15GB per month is not a problem! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
This weeks e-mail 32 December says you can get a free O2 SIM card for which you pay £10 every 3 months.
When I checked on the O2 site the only SIM card offer is for £10 per month
Cam anyone help to find the 3 month deal - thanks0 -

Today's MMT shows this offer is back. It says until Jan 9 but I cant see anywhere at Quidco where that date applies.
"
URGENT. Cheapest EVER unlimited Download Broadband, £6.40 a month (£1.50 for o2 customers)
Unlimited downloads means those who watch web-telly, are gamers, or music downloaders aren't restricted. The current cheapest is o2's £12.20/mth package or £7.20/month for its existing mobile customers. Get it even cheaper: Until 9 Jan., sign up for the deal via a specialist cashback website, and you get £70 back. Factor that into the 12mth contract and it effectively cuts the cost to just £6.40/mth or £1.50/mth for o2 customers.

I'm interested in signing up for the O2 Broadband deal via quidco (I'm already an O2 customer) but I currently pay Onetel for my line rental and calls. Does this mean that I would have to change back to BT to get O2 broadband?0

Yep, you do.
Quote from http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/questions.jsp:
2. How do I get O2 Home Broadband with cable?
You can only get O2 Home Broadband over a BT phone line. If you get your landline from Virgin Media or a similar company, you need to switch to BT to sign up for our broadband. Unfortunately, we can’t make that happen for you. You’ll need to speak to your current provider and BT to get things rolling.
Happy New Year:dance: That window's cracked on both sides!!0 -
Just to update my query, I have had confirmation from Topcashback that all three broadband packages support the cashback. they said:
"I have double-checked the information for this cashback offer and this is payable across these packages, providing of course that you purchase is approved and subject to a contact of at least 12 months."
Just to confirm Quidco have updated their site to confirm as follows:
"For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:
£70 for Standard, Premium or Pro home broadband (Does not include Mobile or Business Broadband Packages)"
Interesting to note on the new offer that, at the moment, both PREMIUM & PRO packages also have the first 3 months of a minimum 12 month contract free.
Cheers
