I've done a search and tried every different variation possible, but can't find a decent and easy fudge recipe. Can anybody help? I vaguely remember a thread before xmas about HM sweets, but can't find it."Failure is always an option"

This is the recipe that was recommended to me:
900 grams white sugar
1 can condensend milk
1 can water
60 grams butter
15 ml golden syrup
5 ml vanilla essence
Grease and line an oven tray with non-stick baking parchment.
Boil together all ingredients except vanilla for 1 hour over a gently heat. Remove from heat, add vanilla and beat with an electric mixer for 7 minutes. (The 7 minutes is very important, believe me). Pour straight into an oven tray and allow to set (if you can)

I reboiled the fudge and although it set, it has now turned into a deadly weapon. Time to try a different recipe methinks."Failure is always an option"

Did you use a sugar thermometer because I think the recipe does work much easier with one. Lakeland sell them and it really does make it easier. HTH0

Yep, got one from the local cookery shop. I've just made a second batch using a different recipe and it started foaming as I was pouring it into the pan!"Failure is always an option"
