Hello, please can someone help? I dont know if i have any rights here...but i was viewing an item in the sale on a well known clothes retailer website (i think it might have been 50% off). when i went on to purchase the item i noticed that it has gone back up to full price with no mention of it ever being in the sale! Is it up to them what they charge or do they have an obligation because the item was in the sale for a period of time? I cant seem to find any information on this so if someone could point me in the direction please that would be most appreciated!
Ta
A retailer can charge any price he wants to. He is quite at liberty to increase the price at any time.

Hiya would appreciate some advice please..
In June 2008 i bought a phillips 50 inch plasma tv from Currys, which
cost just under a thousand pounds..
In march oof this year the screen went black leaving us with only the sound working.
Got in touch with currys and they came and replaced a part, its worked fine up
until yesterday Oct 7th when the same thing has happened again.
I did not buy the extended warranty.
Got in touch with phillips who said basically they cant do anything and to get in touch with currys as its the same part again and the part should be guarenteed for a year.
Back in touch with currys who said the warrenty had run out and they wouldnt do anything and as for the part it only has a 90 day guarentee..
The part on its own costs £300.
Can i do anything, i still have the receipt
thanks in advance0 -

You should not expect the TV to break down in such a short time. Write to Curry's head office, recorded delivery, pointing out that as the same fault has occurred again there is an inherent fault in the TV. Tell them if they don't replace it within 7 days you will go to the Small Claims Court. If you paid by credit card send a copy to your card company as they are equally liable.

Hi there,
First post here but I'm basically just looking for advice before I go shouting at Orange!
I bought a mobile phone for my sister (on my contract - so its in my name) back in September 2008, it was an 18 month contract which is not due to end until March 2010. The problem is that the phone has now stopped working properly, it freezes constantly and at times just switches it's self off. We are looking to get her a new phone but an upgrade is not available at this point and would undoubtedly cost when it is available.
The phone is now 1 month out of it's 12 month warinty but do I have rights under the sale of goods act seen as the product did not last a reasonable length of time, I would expect a mobile phone to last the length of the contract?
And I am right in thinking I take my case to Orange (the company I bought the phone from) and not Sony Erikson?
Oh one last thing sorry, if I bought the phone from Orange over the phone can I still take my case to the store or can I only deal with customer services?
Any advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks, Leigh0 -

Your last point first. I believe Orange online is a separate company to the retail shops so play it safe and deal with them.
Yes, you have a case. Write to them and tell them the phone is not working as you expect and you look to them to repair or replace it for you. If they don't do this in a reasonable time tell you will go to the Small Claims Court. Orange may well involve
Sony Erikson in resolving your problem but make sure you let them know it is them you hold responsible to sort things out for you.

If the handset is only one year old it is not out of warranty. All Sony Ericsson handset come with a two year limited warranty, this will entitle you to have the handset repaired free of charge (as long as the fault is due to a manufacturing fault) at an authorised repair centre.
You can find this info in the leaflets that come with the handset or you can download the warranty info here http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/detailed/warranty?lc=en&cc=gb all you need to do is select the correct model of handset.
I'm not sure if Orange have their own repair centres but Phones4u and Carphone Warehouse do, and they will be able to provide warranty repairs for you. There are also other repair centres the details of which can be found by contacting Sony Ericsson on 08705 237 237 or at questions.GB@support.sonyericsson.com

Or use this number if your telco does not include 0870 numbers in your package, (e.g. all mobiles); - 01295 662101Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Hi, I would appreciate some advice if anyone can help. I bought a dining table and two occasional tables today online from http://www.auradesignerfurniture.co.uk/ which is costing over £400 in all. The shipping charge in the buying process said £0.00 and after paying, my two confirmation emails clearly says shipping £0.00. However, later today, I received a phone call from the company to arrange a delivery date and was told I would have to pay another 10% for the delivery which amounts to around £44. This 10% is definately not mentioned on the website so I'm wondering if it's illegal for them to have hidden costs? I'm going to phone their head office tomorrow to complain, but was wondering where I stand on this. I know I can cancel the order but I still want the items. After having spent a lot of money, I don't want to be paying another £44 which would really stretch my budget. I haven't yet paid the additional charge. Thanks for any help.0

Speak to your bank. File a misuse report. Tell them you did not authorise the second payment and they will sort it out for you.
