    OK then you will still need a report indicating why the machine failed. If it shows a manufacturing fault send the report to Argos and ask them to deal with your machine. They can take into account the fact that you have had 3 years use from it when deciding what to do.

    the first machine purchased from hoover was in jan '09 but that developed fault after fault so we eventually got a new one in september '09 so it would be 3 years old september '12

    Doesn't Hoover offer a five year parts guarantee?

    Yeah call out fee is £119 and i doubt it would be a quick job the motor is on the floor!
