OH had the same experience. I distinctly remember him mentioning mars bars. These days he'll eat anything and everything

  • Afternoon.

Freezing cold here in london....wish I could jump around and do some exercise but would probably drop dead the way im feeling ATM..lol. I have thrown on another cardigan and am determind to not put the gas fire on unless absolutely needed

Anyways, Im abit miffed off. Carpetright have just called to say they have to put off fitting the stair carpet and underlay until next wednesday  gives OH a few more days, so hopefully he can continue the painting to all the skirting downstairs and the beading that needs laying around the edges :D he has done a grand job so far and cant moan (although I always do!) I cant wait for the day when my little house is finished, but is a long way off...nevermind..it will get there...more patience is just needed on my part.

Have had a phonecall this morning from the OU saying that I have been approved for full financial aid for a course Im starting in February 2006 :T this will count towards my psychology degree and shoudnt take too long. I also have the possibility of converting to social work if I choose....choices  They are also going to do an assessment as Im disabled and see if they can make my study period as easy as possible  im looking forward to it..im so bored and need to do something, so why not get my degree :p

Zziggi-can I just say a huge thanks for your help/advice on everything we have been PM'ing about, you have been a true friend and it has meant alot to me knowing you are there....thanks huns :D

My last experience with Carpet Right was fun. Bought 2 carpets for a new house (bedroom & hallway / stairs). When fitting day came they brought the hallway carpet, but the guy didn't know anything about the bedroom one....and we were due to take delivery of bedroom furniture a few days later too. After a short 'chat' they realised that our bedroom carpet was sitting there just waiting to be fitted, so the store manager brought it over in his car.

Problem solved in the end...but keep your eye on them.

    Hm.. :)

I'm still waiting for that to happen and I've been given up 11 months (not that I'm counting:rolleyes: )
Isn't food supposed to taste better, the birds sing brighter, the summers be warmer once you've kicked the weed, and shouldn't I be rollerblading, surfing, batton twirling and acting the giddy goat like they do on some sanitary product addverts. The very picture of health and vitality, full of fun and laughter.:D

If only you could see me hehehe.

Dragged my 1/4 stone heavier frame (due to giving up smoking) around Tesco this morning. Managed to squander £45, got grumpy with a pensioner who kept getting in my way, snarled at a toddler who did the same and complained long and loud to anyone who would listen that they keep moving things.

Shop bought pie and smiley faces for tea cos I've got rock climbing, scottish country clog dancing and expressive yoga to be getting on with.

    I jest...dinners in the SC

Edited co I can't type as good as wot I can talk

    Hi everyone!
A somewhat quieter day than the last few- was so shattered last night was snoring my head off by 9.30!! The dollshouse show in London went very well at the weekend which is a massive relief and a good confidence boost for OH following his redundancy. He's also started a small job invigilating exams today aswell so that should keep him busy!
No major plans for today as have got a PTA meeting this evening. Cooked a new recipe last night which turned out really well- it was alternate layers of potato, bramley cooking apple, fried red onions and parsnips with half a pint of veggie stock and grated cheddar on top. Bung in the oven for 45mins to an hour. Even OH who is a commited carnivore grudgingly approved.
Shall make kedgeree tonight [boiled the eggs before work] and put out the washing that I put in this morning.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

I think maybe I completely messed mine up - after all, I'd been smoking for thirty years. Now, almost four years on and some things still just ain't quite so for taste, and I've just had to get used to the new way.

As for getting all grumpy and snarly... that's not giving up smoking... that's just you turning into a grumpy old git like me :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just got back from a failed shopping trip as Wyevale had sold out of the birthday books (with monthly page pockets with cards in) Does anyone know where else I can get these?thought they would make good pressies that I could put a few of my home made cards in as well. Very cold here and the fire is being hogged by one little cat

Did someone mention an apple cake recipe? I just mix up a sponge pop it into cake tin, slice up a bramley very thinly and lay on top of sponge then cover with a crumble mix and bake until cake is cooked through. I test with a scewer. This is from Delia Smiths Cheat at cooking as you can use packet mixes if in a hurry :D
