I would but kbh4031 rang them 6 times and is still no wiser. I now have 4 emails, 2 each from paypal and the top up card and both say it is nothing to do with them and I should contact the other.
I don't see any point in ringing them when Paypal say it's the top up cards fault, and the top up department says it's paypal's problem.
I think I'll just continue to transfer the money to my bank and use my bank card to spend the money.0 -
sorry I didn't realise - I've always found pp very helpful on the phone which is why I suggested it - it doesn't make sense that you can't do it as that is the whole point of it - sorry I can't help you out with an answer.0

guys the transfer from paypal to the topupcard is done on the paypal top up card site not on the paypal site.
you cant transfer it back the other way tho, the card is very limited. If you try to add it as a credit card to paypal it is invalid.0 -
Just had another thought on this which is a wild guess but you never know.
You are using your Primary email address when you have to log into the Paypal bit, aren't you? I didn't once (I used a secondary one) and it wouldn't let me top up even though they are linked to the same account.0 -

Thanks, yes I was using my primary email address. Just to check I tried using another email address but it was just the same.0 -
Just a thought - but you can't top-up your PayPal Top Up Card with funds that are shown as being in anything other than GBP in your PayPal account.
I had a tenner or so in my PayPal account that was paid to me in US Dollars, and I couldn't top up with that. When I took a GBP payment, that went through OK. All you can do with non-local currencies is transfer them to your bank. Maybe it's that?0 -
"remember that when you are loading your card for the first time, at a Post Office or PayPoint outlet, the card fee of £4.95 will be deducted from the value loaded on your card. A top up fee applies...
You will be contacted shortly before your card is about to expire and asked if you would like a new card when your card expires. If you request a new card, you will then receive it a few days later. There is a fee of £4.95 for replacement cards. Alternatively you could end the agreement and providing your balance exceeds the minimum redemption figure, ask for the balance remaining on the card to be redeemed. A redemption fee is payable."
So on top of Paypal fees I have to pay £5 for the card, £5 every time it expires and a fee to top up or close the account ... erm ... no thanks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You pay a one off fee of £4.95, replacement cards are exactly that, not after expiry! There are no fees to top up from your Paypal account.candyflossing wrote: »"remember that when you are loading your card for the first time, at a Post Office or PayPoint outlet, the card fee of £4.95 will be deducted from the value loaded on your card. I rarely use this, but it does come in handy, topped up Monday, money available to spend on Tuesday.
If you're a personal seller on Ebay then its a pretty good way of getting your money to spend quickly..0 -
So do you all recommend this?
I've been considering it.0 -
I've had a card for about 3 months and have found it very useful, as I'm not working and can't get a credit card. I have a debit card, but when I buy stuff over the net, some companies won't accept it, whereas they will accept the Visa card. The only place I've had problems with is Vodafone, who won't accept it as proof that I am over 18 so that I can access the net on my phone.0
