If it turns out that I don't like it, is it a simple case of cutting the thing in half and that's it?
  • This is from their FAQ page, which is worth a read:

Can I cancel my card and get a refund?Yes, you may cancel the card at any time and redeem the remaining value (subject to Terms and Conditions). However, please read the PayPal Top Up Card Terms and Conditions for further details.

I have just been informed that the card (and I quote the paypal telephone rep from memory) 'cannot be used for payment of any 'subscription' service whether or not the payment is a one off and not to be repeated' - in plain english this means you cannot use it to pay your utility gas/electricity/phone/mobile bills. I know - vodafone cant take payment from it much as theyd like to...

In fact all the major high value payment you might regularly want to make are blocked....

I tried to buy Tesco Mobile phone credit using my card (online and in store) but it was declined, I'm wondering if it was because of the reason stated above?

    Hi...

So I ordered this card on Monday 25th May and stuck £10 on it as an opening balance, they took the 4.95 for the card which left me with £5.05.

I got the card on Friday 29th May and transferred 2 £500 onto the card, to then remember the £5.05 is already on their, meaning overall this week I topped up £1005.05 - I came on here to find out people have had money vanish into thin air and had to spend days chasing them up for it.

Will this now happen to me? Will I now need to contact them to get a cheque for my other £500?

None of the balance has loaded yet, fingers crossed that it all comes on today.

Most balances arrive after about 2pm so check it after that time.

I can't remember off the top of my head what the weekly allowance is - you need to check you haven't exceeded it.

    As of 30 May 09 02:15 PM
    Balance £ 505.05

The weekly balance is £1000 - I can't believe a silly mistake like that is going to cost me in phone bills chasing up a cheque.

If you try to add it as a credit card to paypal it is invalid.

Well I took you at your word and didn't bother to add it as a credit card. But after many emails and three phone calls with one side blaming the other and neither side actually doing anything to sort it out I gave up.

About a month later I decided to give it another try. I added the card as a credit card and everything worked after that!

I haven't actually tried to use it as a credit card via paypal, but I can top up the card from my paypal balance now.

i got mine a few months ago as am not able to get a credit card due to bad credit etc and is brilliant for me. i sell clothes etc on ebay and sometimes need the money straight away which is good as you get it the next day. the only downside is although its a visa card some chip and pin machines at retailers automatically reject the card, not too sure if anyone else has found this?

I've used mine in Somerfield without any problems. Used it in a couple of other shops too, but they were independent local shops.

    Hi

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for funds from your paypal account to appear on your paypal card.

I added some more funds to my account at about this time yesterday, just wondering when they will be likely to appear.

    Thanks

Sorry just noticed a previous post answering my question.
