I was at the end of my tether trying to call various numbers so went into their Head Office office (Cathcart) in person, all sorted in 5 minutes. This is obviously only any good if you live/work near a SP or ManWab office, but it certainly beat all the frustration of trying to call.0

I cannot get through to scottish power online.... tried 4 numbers and get dumped by thier system as it sasy too busy.
I have tried online to change, having loged into thier site. The site is so slow... then times out.
Exactly the same problems here.
If I ring the 0800 phone number, its constantly engaged.
If I ring the 0141 number, it is answered straight away, then I hear the call being passed around the lines, before getting the 'too busy' recorded message and then cut off - not even put on hold/in a queue.
Have given upon the website, as once it goes through to the accounts section, it grinds to a halt - but the 'contact us' section/option is on there as well, so i can't even access that to tell them about the message I have gotten about not being able to change my service package, as 'teecee90' did above.0 -
I tried that but as I already have an online account, they wont speak to me... and the web site times out!

i'd try it again, maybe you got an ******, i am an online customer also and the first person i got through to said she couldnt help me and would put me thru to the online dept, then the music played and played
meanwhile on my other landline i got to speak to a man and told him i wanted to switch to the "fixed energy online no standing charge" and he went about doing it, while asking me to hold, it took about 6 minutes and he kept coming back to me every two and saying sorry for the delay the systems struggling, after the third time he confirmed my telephone number and asked if i would be there for the next 15 minutes and he would call me back when done to save me hanging on.
he rang back after less than 5 muinutes and told me it was all done, i asked if i would get a confirmation email about this and thats when he said "no, sorry only the online dept can do that, im in the ordinary customer services so i dont have access to email out to customers, but it is done and you will be able to see the change when you logon within 24/48 hours
so they can do it, even if you dont get thru to the online billing department
give it another go & GL

i managed to get through this morning:j .used 0800400200 was engaged a lot but kept redialling. tried every option til got one that put me on hold rather than told me to ring back!! was told on line just crashes due to volume of people trying for deal..i have been trying for 2 days and perseverance paid off:j .

I got through to an advisor and was told that they are no longer doing the capped rate to 2009 for new customers
gutted...... don't know what to do now???? we're with BG standard at the moment and not keen on switching to a deal capped to 2011 that's quite a long time with penalties if you want to switch at a future date ................

some plenty more alternative numbers for you to try, unfortunately i cant verifiy their validity, but if you're getting nowhere fast it cant hurt to try
i'd say maybe the "sale support - applications and cancellations" might be a good start - tell them you've been struggling with their website and hanging on the phone all day and if you dont get it resolved soon, you feel you will have to switch your business over to EDF to get a capped deal

Just got through to Scottish Power to switch to their fixed rate - they told me there's a £6.50/month charge to fix and a cancellation charge if you want to leave. Was on hold for 12 minutes, but have been hitting redial on the 08452 706 543 and the 0800 number above - the 0845 were the first to answer!
Might cost the earth to call - but worth it to save money when they put up their prices! Good luck everyone!0 -
Just wanted to say I called the 0141 5683000 number and asked for General enquiries or Billing. Got through in two minutes! Got the Fixed price deal too!
So for all that don't have the fixed proce yet, get in with Scottish Power as EON are far more expensive!
Dear all, I have just used the above number, asked for billing and explained that I had processed an application on the internet but was not sure whether it had been accepted. The lady put me through to "applications dept" who registered me manually for the fixed price deal.:T
