I switched on Friday, tracked in Quidco but no email or confirmation received. Sure it will be fine, as Martin said it will take a couple of months to complete, plus they must be swamped at the moment!
Ditto here. I called them up yesterday and they told me that the application was going through fine.0 -
Just had my current supplier call around to do a meter reading. They had it noted that I will be changing to another supplier shortly. Everything seems to be going through - fingers crossed:beer:0

The plan has already been withdrawn from comparison sites, you can only get it direct (as far as I'm aware) and when I eventualy got through the guy on the phone said that it is likey that the prices will go up tommow or Monday. The website keeps crashing, but if you want to do the online thing rather than the paper billing, the call centre can set that up for you, if you get through..................:mad:Money burns a hole in my pocket, but I'm trying to be good!!

Can't believe I've just spent over an hour on hold to the SP number published on Martin's ite only to be told at the end that its the wrong number and they can only talk to existing SP customers.
What's that all about??0 -

I'm now trying to rack my brain as I seem to remember that the price is capped, but will go down if the rates go down. Is this right or should I be panicking and trying to change my plan?
Are you expecting the rates to go down before November when it finishes? I was on the same plan but switched the other day to the Fixed09, appears to have gone through OK, I expect my charges to go up 20%+ but if I waited until Nov I would expect 50%+. As a bizzare twist they have just reduced my monthly DD from £49.50 to £38 on review (Duel fuel).'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I am currently a Scottish Power customer on Online Energy 3, and wanted to phone CS, to find out some things about the Price Cap Plan before changing, but when you call the CS number for online customers, you don't even get the chance of being put onto hold!
Tried phoning bang on 8am this morning, surely there can't be THAT many people trying to phone as soon as the Customer Service opens, especially the so-called dedicated online customers only number.
Whats really annoying is that you go thru all the press 1, 2 etc, that takes about a minute, before they tell you "call centre busy, try later" message, without even an option for a callback or to hold and wait.
I've checked on the SP website with usage, and i am £77 worse off for the year, but we were using things like a tumble dryer last winter, that we won't use this time around, that obviously inflates the electric usage, and having showers rather than baths, to watch the gas usage.
Looked at changing online, but when you get to the end, the system can't tell you what your monthly direct debit will be, compared to what it currently is, and as we are paying £101 a month right now, taking the total the SP comparison quote gave on the website, my payments would work out at £104 a month, but that doesn't mean they won't try and fleece more, paying £101 and having cut down on energy usage, we are £50 in credit at the moment, so not really wanting to increase the £101, as frankly we can't afford to, hence been trying to get thru' to CS on the phone, as at least you can get answers straight away.
Just think it is shocking that after a dozen or so calls, all at different times, not one has been connected, even if it means being on hold for an hour before getting answered.0 -

I tried to cap with British Gas (boo, hiss) on Sunday and went through one of the recommended comparison sites even though I could have gone direst through the BG website. I filled in all the details in the sign-up pages, agreed terms & conditions then clicked "submit" only to be taken back to the front page again. This happened twice. No comfirmation email at all so I thought I would wait a day or so. British Gas upped their prices and I had obviously missed the boat.
Last night I also waited on the Scottish Power phone line but for a mere 48 minutes. I was also told to ring another number but that it was probably pointless (I did ring and it was) and I should ring this morning and tell them that I had been on hold for almost an hour and they may offer me the capped rate.So I got online again and signed up with E.on after several attempts and much waiting for the screens to appear. Desperate times & desperate measures.

after reading a wee bit and trusting martins recommendation to cap i wanted to cap with the scottish power 2009 deal but after reading the opffer was closed i thought i need to use some fly moves, i am with Sp so i called them and said i called them a week ago to get on the capped tarrif but my recent letter says im still on the premier package, she said oh sorry thats no problem the offer is still available so she is putting me on the 2009 capped offer, so it seems the offer is still there if you phone up.
cheers :j0 -
to those who signed up online (i transferred from British Gas)............did you receive an email confirming?
slightly concerned mine hasn't been received/ processed
I got an email the vey next day confirming it had been switched and saying that my account should show the new tariff online within 24hrs.....which it did.4kW 8.33 Eternity (2.5kW SSE 1.5kW WSW). Glinton, Cambridgeshire.0 -
If anyone is an existing Scottish Power customer and are registered for the online account access then there is still a Fixed Rate09 tariff if you go through the "Change My Service" process. There are 4 fixed price rates listed, giving online/offline and standing charge/no standing charge options. You cant bring up the price list as it gives a page not found error but it states that the prices are fixed until August31 2009.
I've gone through it and it says it was successful. Worth a shot if you are waiting on the phone and are already registered online.
Edit:
I've also just received an email confirming that I've applied for a change of service and saying it will take up ot 3 days to be processed0
