Im still in the process of working out whats cheapest for us..
Roughly we use 500 kwh of electricity a month, then 35 m3 of gas which im struggling to make sense of converting them to kwh as its coming up as over 1095kwh.
We only use the gas for heating and hot water, have electric cooker and shower. Once we manage to work the gas thing out, i can compare the BG Click 5 prices against the SP items.
Is it worth going with a standing charge, or no standing charge.?0 -
I have a feeling Click 5 prices have not yet gone up - but will in the next few weeks which will also make the comparison difficult.
Things might be a bit clearer next week as I am sure the other major providers will announce their price rises in the first week of August.
At the moment there are those who have announced and those who have not and so it is really difficult to compare:eek:0 -
ive just spent 10 mins comparing Click5 to SP fixed sept 09, and oct 09.
can save about £10 a month at the moment on electric, gas it a little cheaper, need to work out what if christmas comes along with more gas useage etc.
quidco have £72 for SP
Monthly useage for summer is -
electric is 560kwh
gas is 395kwh...0 -
Thing is I am sure that SP fixed to 2009 is now closed to new customers although it is still there for existing customers for the next few hours....or the weekend.....I do not know which !
I am sure it will close to existing soon.
SP fixed to 2009 prices are a lot higher than their current prices but of course all that will change when the current prices go up.
For me I did not even look to switch supplier just looked internally at what the prices were and what the anticipated rises were.0 -

If only I had that link a few days ago! It's bookmarked now, cheers.0 -
Just received letter in post about my switch to Scottish Power, I switched last Friday. So it may take a week or so before you hear from them after switching, for new customers.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Thanks Tiff, I switched by internet on Monday morning - only had the comparison site email so far.0

I received a message today that as of close of business today(04\08) the fixed price energy offer will end for the door to door sales. this may well mean that SP will be doing a price rise within the next few days0

Hi. :cheesy:
Following on from my last message (when I signed up for this fixed energy offer 2009); I've been reading some posts mentioning 'standing order' or 'non-standing order'. Should I have mentioned something to scottish power when I signed up for this offer about whether or not to take out a 'standing order'?
Thank you.0
