Thanks Tiff, I switched by internet on Monday morning - only had the comparison site email so far.
"Thank you for your email.
On checking our records, we do not have an application to transfer your supply to ScottishPower. An email would have been sent to you about a week later stating that you had been successful.Unfortunately the Fixed Price tariff is no longer available."
To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. Has anyone else had this problem? My transaction is showing as tracked in Quidco, so I've asked them if the Quidco system might have somekind of SP reference number.

Hi. :cheesy:
Following on from my last message (when I signed up for this fixed energy offer 2009); I've been reading some posts mentioning 'standing order' or 'non-standing order'. Should I have mentioned something to scottish power when I signed up for this offer about whether or not to take out a 'standing order'?
Thank you.
Do you mean standing charge?
Or direct debit?0 -
Hi, thanks Magentasue :cheesy:
I just got my letters from Scottish Power today. I'm paying by direct debit £61.50 per month. £40.00 for gas and £21.50 for electricity.
Is this the correct offer everyone's been talking about? Thanks :cheesy:0 -
I applied on-line on Sunday 27th, having not received a confirmation letter I chased them up and got this response:

I'm suffering exactly the same, but we used Moneysupermarket for our switch back at the beginning of June. SP said they had no record of our application and couldn't offer the fixed price tariff anymore and suggested I complain to Moneysupermarket.
Moneysupermarket are insisting they sent it off to SP 8 weeks ago when we applied, and I'm now currently keeping my fingers crossed that it will still be honoured - chap at Moneysupermarket seemed to think it would be, but he's waiting to hear back from someone at SP.
Wish I'd just gone direct to SP now - all for the sake of a weeny bit of cashback.0 -

The same happened to me. I phoned them on the 31st July, spent 50 mins on hold etc and was told I would receive a confirmation letter. I still had not received it yesterday so gave them a phone. They told me they had no record of my application  . I went ballistic. I was told the offer had now ended but as I had 'claimed' I phoned a manager would waive this and sign me up. They made out that I was just phoning to chance my arm. Anyway, thankfully things are now sorted.
I would give them a phone. No doubt they had some sort of system crash with the volume of applications over the last few weeks. They won't even admit it.0 -

Now wondering if my application has gone through. Applied on 29 July and not heard anything yet, although it has tracked in Quidco.
If it hasn't gone through, I shan't bother to make any fuss, as I factored in the £72 cashback.
I'm just going to leave well alone and see what happens.0 -

I never got an email but got my confirmation letter yesterday (7th August) after I applied online on 30th July (by cut and pasting the link to the withdrawn offer into the address bar). Quidco tracked and the letter suggests 4-6 weeks for switch to take effect. Scottish power eventually returned my original call when I tried to switch by phone. I said I'd switched online but could they check it had gone through. The woman said she had no way of checking the status. Maybe they can't see pending accounts?
I'm a bit annoyed because E.oN have just billed me, which means I'll lose the normal discount I'd get over the time it'll take to switch.Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -
Received confirmation letter only, this morning. Applied on-line on 1st Aug.
Direct debit charge is £96 a month. Is that about right?. I got no idea. Location is, Glasgow. Are other people paying about the same? I still have 7 days option of cancellation
Thanks0 -
The only way to know if you're paying the right amount is to calculate against your actual usage. If you did a comparison before you switched that would have given you some idea of how much you'd expect to pay.
They've quoted me £100 a month which I suspect will be up to £20 short of actual use. I'll bump up the payments when I'm properly signed up as otherwise I'm locked into Scottish Power at the end of 12 months until I clear any outstanding debt.Reading this signature is a waste of time0
