I've tried ringing 02 three times, and the best deal they can apparently offer me is:
32gb 3gs refurb - free
24 month contract
£35 pm
They won't offer me an 18 month contract!!! I'm on simplicity and have been for 3 years, I've been with 02 for 5 or 6 year altogether.
They're even sending me a PAC code......any tips?
Only thing you can do is try again, just need to get through to the right person! And make sure you tell them that you know someone else who's had the deal you're after.
These refurbs are going like wild fire, still got 13 days until I can call up and get myself one, hope they don't all go!!0 -

They're saying the deal they gave me is the best they can offer, regardless of any other deals which people have grabbed.

I started off by telling them what I had been offered previously and what I knew someone else had been offered. The guy said it all depends on your account as to what they can offer and tried to fob me off saying that the offer I had been given earlier was the best, £96 phone and £45 per month. He then said I can have a look and see if I can get it better, he put me on hold for a while and when he came back I reminded him I have a broadband account aswell. They then came back with the £35per month 18month and free 32gb phone.
I have been with o2 for going on 10 years (BT genie before it turned to 02), and have always upgraded but have always had a discount of at least £10 per month on the line rental.
You can but try again. Or wait a few days and see if they get any refurb 16gb phones in, they said they were out of stock, I would have been happy with a 16gb.Desperately trying to get debt free!0 -

That's a saving of £15 per month (+ vat) plus 700 more texts so with that saving I don't mind keeping my current iPhone. Has anyone else found similar savings?
just read vodafone retentions, and they are only paying £10/month for 600 mins and unlimited text. you could add a web bolt on for £5, so say £15. that's over £5 saving as yours is without vat0 -
Could anyone tell me how much the iPhone insurance (monthly) is, when buying it from Tesco on a 12-month contract, please?
My DH needs one

I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've just purchased an iPhone on Orange (the £35 a month contract) and going through quidco on e2save offers £60 cashback, making my iphone only £29.
I know it may not be the cheapest deal but in reading recent posts I thought it might help someone.

Hi guys, need some advice/ideas...
i've just come to the end of my contract (£25pm, 200mins+400txts+'unlimited' data) with CPWH. Want to get a 3GS and was thinking of a couple of options. Don't really want to get a 18-24month contract (again) and would probably be happier with a SIMplicity + iphone combo. The issues i have are with where to get the sim and the iphone from...
SIMplicity plan.
If i get it from CPWH i get to keep my number but will not get any cash back (quidco etc). They have offered (not really a deal as same as website) me one month contract for £20pm with 300mins+300txts+web bolt-on
I can get a one month sim direct from o2 (via quidco+£23.33 cb) with 700mins+1400txts+web bolt-on for £20pm but would lose my number.
Or i could try to get a 12month contract but have not really looked in to it.
3GS iPhone
My folks are going away on holiday in a few weeks and will be changing in Dubai, i understand (could be wrong) that iphones bought in Dubai while (?considerably) cheaper will also work here in the UK, i.e. they're unlocked. Does anyone know if this is true or has had experience of using iphones bought from abroad?
I could also buy the phone on PAYG from Apple (16gb=£449, 32gb=£549), which is obviously ALOT of money.
Also there's the possibility of the next generation iPhone being released in June, if wanted to wait for it or the prices of the current generation to drop.
Sorry if that all sounds a bit confusing! But any help would be massively appreciated!
Cheers! :cheesy:0 -
superted, you won't lose your number if you get a new sim. You just call o2 and ask for a PAC code for your current sim, and then give them the phone number of the new sim, and the number will be transferred within 3 days or so.0

I spoke to someone at CPWH and he said that i wouldn't be able to take my number to the same network or a network i have previously used the number for (3 and t-mobile) unless i was to upgrade, is this wrong? It could just be BS to make me stick with CPWH0
