I've only had my simplicity contract for 3-4 months. I was with Orange for years before that but thought the same as you, a few months on a simplicity deal might be a route to a decent retentions deal.
Thanks for your reply. I think I will sign up for a simplicity contract in the next couple of weeks and then reassess in 2/3 months time, maybe the 4g/next gen will drive current prices down, or maybe the Android phones will top the iphone?!0 -
Went for the simplicity option, all sorted, many thanks for the advice0

The refurbs are Grade A definitely come with a 12 month warranty and have been returned within 14 days as mentioned.
People on this forum: http://www.avforums.com/forums/iphone-discussions/1146875-o2-iphone-upgrade-free-32gb-3gs-13.htm have said that they have looked at the 4th and 5th digits of the refurb iphone they have received to see which week they were made. Some are week 49, which is the start of December.
I've been offered by retentions a 32gb 3gs on £45/month on 18 month contract for free or a 16gb 3gs on £35/month 18 month contract for free. Probably go for the latter but waiting for them to come back in stock.0 -
From my conversations with O2 the refurbished iphones come with only 3 months warranty, but they offer half price apple case (2 years warranty) for £59. Also the refurbs are phones returned within 14 days and if they have any scratches etc, they are sent to apple for a new cover...
Sounds like they were only saying that to get you to take out the Applecare, as £59 is the full price!0 -

Does your contract end on the 17th or does your final month start on the 17th? You can upgrade in your last month with o2, you don't have to wait till the end date of your contract.0 -

No, sadly my contract ends on Feb 17th, so I have to wait until Jan 17th for an upgrade.0 -

Also, some people on the forum I mentioned on my previous post have managed to get free o2 broadband for 12 months at the same time as getting a new iphone...0

Anyone know the cheapest payg or sim only deal that includes web. T-mobile do top up £10 and get free internet and txt the next month. This sounds good but i had a similar sort of thing from orange years ago and they cancelled after a few months without telling you.
Or if i got it on the tesco £20 per month contact but kept it running for 18 months would you still get the internet included in months 12-18? I know i would lose the free cloud wifi, but not bothered about that.
Thanks.0
