Just to let everyone know O2 have the reboxed IPhone 3GS model in stock as I just signed up for 18 mths 35 pounds per mth with free 32GB model. I am very happy with this as I have been looking an IPhone for ages and my previous 5 yr old mobile is on its last legs!
Does anybody know what way it works with old number being transferred - do I just remove the sim card from my current phone and put it in the Iphone or do I use a special IPhone sim that comes with the phone - sorry if this is a stupid question but I forgot to ask when I was on the phone to O2?0 -
Thanks MoneySaverMatt.
I called O2 and they still have refurbished iPhones in stock. However, the person I spoke to at retentions wasn't interested in keeping me as an O2 customer. I told her the deal I'd been offered last week while the refurbs were out of stock (iPhone 3GS 32GB Black, 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data & wifi). She said they only offered 500 texts with the iPhone and they didn't do unlimited texts as you go on to a 'special iPhone tariff'. I stated that I was offered unlimited texts last week and that I knew people with unlimited texts with an iPhone but she wouldn't budge.
I requested my PAC and it's back to the drawing board!!!0 -

You use your existing SIM card but have to activate it through iTunes on your computer

Hi
I have been browsing and saw some of the offers that people had achieved. I just rang O2 was offered a refurb 3Gs 32GB on a £45 per month tariff for £96. Think will leave it a while and try again but go through to retentions next time.Desperately trying to get debt free!0 -
My current iPhone contract has just come to an end - O2 35 on iPhone (£35 +vat per month, 600 mins + 500 texts) I rang O2 to enquire about changing my phone to a cheaper model (although I love my iPhone - my cards took a bashing at Xmas) They told me that if I was happy with my current iPhone model (3G) and didn't want to upgrade to the 3GS then I could keep my current model and they would reduce the contract to £20 per month (+ vat) with 600 mins and 1200 texts (!) That's a saving of £15 per month (+ vat) plus 700 more texts so with that saving I don't mind keeping my current iPhone. Has anyone else found similar savings?0

It was O2 retentions I rang on my mobile - 202 then press 2 and 2 again. I was initially offered the IPhone 3G 8GB refurb model on 18mth 30 pounds per mth contract with just 75 mins per mth and small number of texts. I said I knew someone who had got the refurb IPhone 3GS 32GB for 35 per mth on 18 mths. He went away to check if he ould do this for me and confirmed he could. I was also offered O2 Home Broadband as part of the deal, but didn't want to change provider so didn't take it. I was also told that I could downgrade to a cheaper tariff in 9 mths time if I decided I needed less minutes. The deal I got includes 600 mins, 500 texts, unlimited wi fi & internet. I was on the 02 Simplicity 10 pounds per mth tariff for about the past 3 yrs and have been an O2 customer for about 7 yrs though my monthly expenditure was always quite low, so am very happy with this deal :-)0

I just phoned, (currently on £17.50 a month contract), and got offered 8GB phone for £28 per month, but with only 75 texts and 120 minutes (more than I use anyhow). 18 month contract. Said I really wanted a 3GS, but she said they were all out of them and to phone back in a week. Humph.0

Thanks MoneySaverMatt
Just rang retentions back. I have now taken them up on a 32gb Iphone 3GS (refurb), for free on 18 month £35 per month contract. I told them I knew someone who had had that offered and asked if I could have it too.
Thanks Again!Desperately trying to get debt free!0 -
I've tried ringing 02 three times, and the best deal they can apparently offer me is:
32gb 3gs refurb - free
24 month contract
£35 pm
They won't offer me an 18 month contract!!! I'm on simplicity and have been for 3 years, I've been with 02 for 5 or 6 year altogether.
They're even sending me a PAC code......any tips?0
