I finally upgraded on T-mobile and got a brand new white ipone3gs 16gb, and pay £40 a month, with 1200 free mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet, thought that was a pretty good deal, on 24 months contract. Also checked my home insurance and my iphone is insured for theft, acciendetal cover so that saved me £12.00 a month from the phone compnay.
Just to say I was paying £50 a month before and didn't have internet then,, I used quite a lot of mins:beer:0 -
I think the Tesco 12 month deal at £20 a month is the cheapest with an overall cost of £560 over the 12 months as you have to pay £320 for the phone.
Everyone is charging £440 for the PAYG phone, so an extra £120 and a tie in of only 12 months seems a good deal. For that you get unlimited data aswell i think and £60 worth of calls and texts per month.
Does anyone know if apple plan on reducing the price after christmas for the sales? Or is the next round of decreases due when the newer iphone comes out?0 -
Can anyone help me out with a link to the Tesco deal please, or is it just in-store?
Thanks0 -

generally 16gb 3gs is circa £440 on sim only then monthly cost for internet use say £15months for 12 months = £180
£440+180 = £620 (spreading cost over) / 12months = £51.67
i was looking at say vodafone 24 months * £30 = £720 + £150 for phone = £870
£870/24 months (spreading cost) = £36.250 -

However, I don't think it's fair to divide the first by only 12 months... as you're not then comparing like for like. I'd suggest therefore adding an additional 12 months line rental to the first calculation (+£180) and then dividing the total (£800) by 24 = £33.33 per month...0 -

Another solution would be to take the 12 month Tesco contract for the first year - £560 for a 16GB 3G S, then add the twelve months at £15/mth, bringing the the total to £740. Divided by 24 that's £30.83, and you get a bit more for the money.
The drawback here's the high upfront cost (£320), but if you can shoulder that it strikes me as the best deal at the moment.0
