Slightly off topic, but for info, Tesco's iPhone's are locked to Tesco/O2, not just Tesco.0

Thanks for confirming this. I can get 10% staff discount in Tesco so that's a cheaper way for me to buy a PAYG iPhone and get Simplicity for iPhone on O2.0 -
After two days of trying, i finally took
£39 for 16 gb 3gs in black
600 mins/500 txts/data
£30 per month (£5 a month reduction in line rental)
18 month contract
Saving £235 on the equivalent new iphone tarrif!!
I tried by best but they would not give me the phone for free and it was £89 for the refurb 32 gb. Im happy though, an o2 customer for 8 years. Normal midrange spend.
*BTW they do make notes on your account about previous offers*
They tried to sell me apple care protection plan initially and said i had to take it.
It was mentioned in my last phone call but i declined it.
I did get the price down from £49 on 18 month contract with no line rental discount so did quite well - especially as they started with a 24 month contract with no discount and just a free phone!!0 -
no - the iphones at tesco are locked to tesco. the tesco man told me!
I think my problem is that I have ALWAYS had a sim only contract, therefore apparently am less worthy of a decent upgrade. i rang two or three times to get different people and no one would budge. Its the best bloody phone I've ever had though! Love it!
Incidentally with insurance, mine is covered for £40 a year on house insurance, cheaper than 02's £15 per month
:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

FYI...the £150 cashback from orange is not applicable to iphone deals. I sent top cashback a query and they confirmed this.0

What tariff was that on?
I've just spoken to o2 about upgrading to a refurb iphone 3gs 16gb and was offered free phone at £45 per month (600 minutes/500 texts/unlimited internet) or to pay £99 for the phone and £35 per month.
I wonder if it is to do with how much you spend with them? At the moment I'm on the £20 simplicity deal and use according to them 200 minutes and about 800 texts.
I spoke to upgrades and not retentions.
It was an 18 month contract 35pm. 600 mins, 500 texts, unlimited web.
I think o2 change their minds daily about what they have for sale and what they want to offer you.0 -
O2 are truely wierd!
I am eligible for a three month early upgrade as I 'am a gold customer'. I called and was offered after much bartering;
iPhone 3GS 16GB
1200 Minutes
Unlimited Text
Unlimited Data
A upgrade at the moment Apple release a new iPhone (expected to be 12 months)
Just waiting for it to be delivered on Monday and just traded my 3G on Mazuma for £165

I thought I got a good deal with this - but can you guys advise if not, as I have a couple of weeks to return if not satisfied?!. Last night after speaking to O2 retentions (never had an iphone before but been with them for years) I signed to;
Free iphone 3GS 16gb (refurb - or 'as good as new'?),
600 mins/500 txts,
unlimited internet
18 months
£31 (inclusive of VAT)
Whaddya reckon?0 -
That sounds like a great deal to me.0
