i think i just got myself a good deal, phoned up 3 as i am now due for an upgtrade from my prehistoric nokia n96:eek:, and managed to get the 16gb iphone 4 for free, with the tariff being £35 per month for 500 mins, 5000 texts, 1gb internet and 150 picture messages, which is fine by me, as i always text more than ring, so willl use no where near the 500 mins, i could have paid £99 and got the same tariff for £30 per month, but as being as it only worked out an £11 saving decided against, as i have never had a free upgrade before, even when i upgraded to the nokia n96 it cost me £150:eek::eek:, only trouble is i got to wait till november as they are awaiting a new batch that hopefully wont have the well advertised problems, does this seem a good deal?, and how far will the 1gb internet get me?

I got this deal from 3 as an upgrade today and pretty happy with it.

Only problems is got to wait until 30th Nov for delivery :(

  • I have just upgraded to the iPhone 4 and have 750MB data included in my package. Does anyone know how long that will last, I am useless with this!
  • As long as you don't spend your time streaming video or radio then it should last you without any bother. When you download an app and it asks if you are happy for it to "push" stuff to you always say no. This will save you a few meg over the course of a month in itself.

That's right, your data allowance is only mobile data, also the phone will always use wifi in preference to mobile data if it can find an open or allowed wifi network (like at home).

  • Can I just ask a quick question about the cameras on the iphones......

Is the quality of the camera on the iphone 4 worth the extra £100 compared to buying a 3gs?

Really need a good camera as I print a lot of pics off for framing/calendars etc.

I currently have an Ericsson that, although is in no way comparable to an iphone, does have a 5mp camera so don't really want to switch to a phone where the camera is not as good.

    Thanks for any replies.
  • i have the iphone 4 and to be honest, the camera is brilliant,
i havent used my digital one since i got the phone, you can use the apps to edit the photos and also video in hd and edit videos as well.

    well worth it

IMO, the 4 has the best camera I have used on a phone, better than the 8MP Xperia x10i or any of the current HTC models or the Galaxy S.

there r rumours that if you buy a 16gb iphone 4, direct from 3 of the internet at the moment, they are refreshed, which means refurbished, which made me panic when i first read it, but apparantly these turn up in plain white boxes and on your paperwork with it, it says refreshed, but mine turned up on tuesday as promised in a proper apple box and no mention of refreshed on paperwork, so looks like if you upgrade you still get a brand new one
Take every day as it comes!!
  • Hi, apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere.
I am looking at the 16GB iphone 4 on a Tesco Mobile 12 month contract.
At the end of the 12 months when I'm out of contract, can I buy a sim-free plan from any provider (vodafone, o2), or will I have to choose only Tesco Mobile sim free plans? Thanks in advance.
