Hi i'm in the same situation living close to the border with the irish republic i need to keep the four to one text option for international texts so would be very interested to know how you get on. thanks

iPhone arrived yesterday, spent a few minutes very carefully & slowly cutting my regular sized sim down to micro size using a template (just do a web search - loads of printable templates around), and everything works perfectly. Of course, there's no real reason to expect anything to have gone wrong with obtaining an official microsim from O2, but better safe than sorry!

I've also had an email from Quidco confirming the cashback has been tracked. Still not a cheap phone, but as I'm only paying £20 per month for Simplicity, and it's a decent tariff, it's the best option for me. Hopefully I'll get £150 for my 3G too, so as an 'upgrade', sim-free was the way!

So,whats the best o2 deal for an iphone?
  • what's the deal with Quidco? I looked at the site and it says cash back from apple store doesnt apply to the iphone 4.
How come some people got cash back?

o2 on their business tariffs, with upgrades every 12 months. And trust me you dont need to own a business. If you know a family member/friend with one put their business address down and put delivery to your house.

Perhaps their website just needs updating. Topcashback are definitely doing 3% on the iPhone 4.

  • Feeling even better about it now I've signed up for £10 a month 12 month contract with T Mobile (600 mins, 500 texts, 3gb data and unlimited landlines). Worrying about coverage now but we'll see when it turns up :).

£10 a month for all of that sounds great, where did you find the deal? and where did you buy your unlocked iphone, for how much?

    cheers,
  • The deal was with T Mobile (there's a thread in here somewhere) and I bought the phone directly from Apple.

Ended up cancelling the deal though as the sim was doing funny things to my phone and I couldn't get media messaging working...shame really!
  • wow, is this an isolated issue or this sim won't work with iphones?

i didn't find the thread, but quidco is giving £90 cashback on the £15 a month with same specs, bringing it down to £7.50, if the tracking works!

sorry, i can't post the link yet...:(
  • hi guys,

i have a request for any of you that can help.....
my contract with orange (panther 40) is due to finish next week and i badly want the iphone.
the orange store has told me to buy it direct from apple and then upgrade to one of their sim only deals.
however, apple store say buy it from them AND upgrade through them and it will be the best of both worlds which has left me confused!
on top of this i also am aware of apple product issues and wanted to know where i stand if i stay on contract with orange or buy direct with apple and go sim only if:
    - there are problems with software, etc after
    - if i damage the phone.

as ive had a few issues with my blackberry, orange have been very good at replacing so i am tempted to stay with them but i know iphone is a different cattle of fish and wonder whether buying direct is better. also im aware of the usual mse advice about resale value of unlocked iphones and switching to cheaper contracts so ive no idea whats the best policy? PLEASE HELP!

    thanks in advance guys!
  • anyone got an idea if o2 do any rentition deals for the iphone 4?
