There is not any, the price you see is the price you pay, you may get 10% off line rental but thats about it as apple set the prices and the networks are pretty tied to them

Does anyone know any cheap deals on any iPhone 4 phones?

As above, there are virtually no deals. The price is set for all networks.

The cheapest method over a term seems to be to buy the iPhone 4 outright and then get a SIM only deal. Have a search for iPhone 4 in this forum and you'll find several threads discussing this.
  • Had some adventures with 3 today. I called in at my local three store who told me I could only get my PAC by phoning the call centre in India.

I was quite up front with the guy in saying I wanted to order my iPhone through a cashback website and so would need my PAC. He then started to warn of the dire consequences of using a cashback site: thousands of complaints from people who've lost thousands of pounds or who didn't receive phones or got faulty phones. I tried explaining to him that it was just a click through commission site that I'd used many times before and I would be ordering the phone from three. However, he wouldn't accept this and said three doens't offer cashback and I must be buying from a dealer.

In the end, he persuaded me to go with the SIM only deal for 12 months of 2000 minutes. He said I got my own iPhone, I could just request a mini sim for it. I knew it would cost £100s to buy a phone but he assured me it would work out cheaper. When I got back to work, I checked google shopping for the cheapest 16gb which was £449. At £20 a month over two years, this would be substanatially more expensive

I called back this evening to cancel, initally sympathetic, told the other person the same about cashback, got the same horror stories about it. She then offered me a 36 month contract in order to waive the £99 handset fee. So in order to save me £99, she offered me an extra year's contract for £360. She then said she could also save me £99 for same number of minutes for £35 a month. So again, £120 extra to save me £99. I suppose many of the people who call them didn't do arithmetic for O level.

I just asked for my PAC code, which they told me can't be used to transfer direct to three. (I'd love to know if this is true) telling me I had thirty days to use it and I would be billed up until 31st October. I then asked if I don't use the code until later this month, will I still have to give a month's notice the answer to which was yes, so I'm being billed an extra month's use of my existing expired contract that I won't be using.

I'll be getting a cheap PAYG sim from another network tomorrow. I'll have to shop around to find which one gives you the PAC code with NSA. I'll then order online the 500 mins 3 iphone.

    Confused? I am too!

I figured that as a out of contract, high user I'll be better off getting an unlocked iphone4 from apple and then renewing my current orange contract on a 12 month deal with the most expensive phone - which i can then sell to offset the costs of buying an iphone.

The thing is I want to stay on my old tarriff, which is not available anymore(rather then getting a sim only iphone tarriff) . So i figured I will have to cut down my sim card to micro sim size and ask for high amount of data when I renew (currently I have a complimentary 80Mb).

Are there any potential pitfalls i might have missed?

    Thanks

I also plan to do the same. I am with T-mobile. Is it possible to request for a micro- sim card from them rather than cut my current card?

  • Found out today from three that I can indeed PAC out then PAC in, it will take about four to five days in total. They also corrected their colleague who I spoke to last night. I can use the PAC code at any time during the 30 days, my last bill will still be on 31 October and I will not have to pay an additional 30 days from the date I use the code.

Because of that, I think I'll wait about three weeks before PACing out to use the remaining credit on my current contract. Hopefully the cashback will still be available then!
  • Hello :)

    Need your moneysaving opinions!!

Due my upgrade with Orange, wanting the iphone 4, but dilemma is this...

I get a 10% loyalty discount which I didn't expect meaning I get £5 pound off my chosen tariff for the iphone 4.

I was originally going to go for £45 pound a month which would give me: 1000 mins and unlimited txts, 1gb net, free orange sat nav and 50 free photo messages a month but due to the loyalty discount this would bring it down to £40 a month BUT I'd have to pay £30 over debit card for the phone now!

Trouble is I haven't really got that spare £30 quid for another few weeks and I DONT want to wait any longer as I've suffered with such a awful phone for too long now, so in order to get the iphone free I would have to pay £50 a month, which would give me: 1200 mins, unlimted txts and all the same options as above. However with the loyalty bonus this would give go down to £45 a month.

The latter option would cost me a extra £30 over the year but for the present it wouldn't leave me so short of money.

Also, when I've decided I'm going to ask Orange to reduce my minutes and give me more internet as I'd never use 1000 plus minutes in a month!

Don't know what to do :(

    HELP!
  • Anyone know if Orange give any accessories away with the Iphone 4.
    ie. cases, car charger, etc.

Also does orange maps/satnav come with the £30pm business plan or is it an additional cost.

Where do people stand on insurance?

    thanks in advance
  • I'm looking to get an IPhone 4 (my contract is up for renewal in November) but I'm getting seriously irritated with how slow my 3G is running at the moment so I'm not sure I want to wait.

Would it be possible for me to buy an IPhone 4 sim free from Apple, walk into an O2 store and get a micro sim, use the Iphone 4 on my current 3g contract until November and then switch to a 12 month simplicity?

Not sure if there would be any problems using my current contract with an IPhone 4.

    Any thoughts much appreciated!
