Can you stick a normal 02 PAYG sim in it and just pay for the internet on it (when its not in Wifi areas?). anyone know roughly how much a quick browse of say facebook once a day would cost in terms of MB?
02 do it for free

4th offer - £25 per mth, 300mins, lump sum cash back £150 on inception and can purchase 3GS 8GB for £450 (less £150 cash back). :undecided
I said I would look at competitors and she arranged call back Monday evening. Anyone got an opinion to share on the 4th offer? I figure buy cost of 3GS elsewhere is going to drop with 4G released? Next stage - disconnections... wish me luck!;)
You can buy a 16Gb 3GS from O2 for £449, so them suggesting the 8GB one for £450 is just an offensive offer. The 12 Mth iPhone simplicity offer is 300 mins unlimited internet for £15, but they want to give you the same for £25. What sort of idiot thought that plan out? Even if you take the £150 cashback into account, £25 on an 18 month (I presume) contract means you will spend £30 more over the period than you would do with the Simplicity!!
Tell them exactly where they can poke their suggestion and ask for your PAC code.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

Can someone sort me out please?!
I'm an iPhone virgin and trying to put together the cheapest deal. I've been with Virgin for years and am a very low usage customer; I happily exist on their £8.50 a month plan and almost never go over my 100txt and 100 minutes. So I don't need any whacking great amount of minutes. I would however like unlimited internet access. I'm happy with an 8gb phone. Can I pick up an 8gb on ebay for roughly £200, then get a sim only deal from Tmobile for £10 like the one at the top of this chart?

What would be the pitfalls (aside from the risk you take on ebay)?0 -

Hi there
Your biggest pitfall is the phone you'd get off eBay. On 24 June, there will be an Iphone 3GS 8Gb, where the one you buy of eBay will be the 3G. It's slower and doesn't cope with the iOS4 update for multitasking.
The cost for the 8Gb 3GS should be advertised later today or tomorrow. I'd wait for that. If you are still then happy to by the 3G off eBay, the prices should drop.
The sim and package you are looking at with T-Mobile should be ok.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Thanks. So the problem would just be the slowness? But realistically, it won't be that slow will it? I'll definitely wait and see what happens to the prices. I'm not entirely sold on iPhones actually because I do value a pretty decent camera (my current one is 5mp) but I'm just interested to see how low I can get the price. I presume I would need to buy an unlocked phone?0

Its just been pointed out to me that its the budget is in 8 days ! So any price released today or tomorrow is likely to be slightly out as it's generally agreed that VAT will go up to 20% (if not more) !!
So just bare that in mind . . .0 -

VAT wont go up immediately though, there is too much work involved for this. Most likely would be in a couple of months time, if it happens at all0 -

I have an N95 8gb and is only just out of contract. I was going to ring O2 retentions to see the best deal I could get for the 3GS. I was holding out for the 4G but I won't be able to afford it.
Should I wait to speak to retentions when the prices for the 4G are advertised?
Realisitcally, will I get the 16gb 3GS phone for free (I don't mind a referbushided model) and pay around £35 pm? or am I way off the mark. I only use about 300 talk mins and 500 texts.
Ideally I only want 18m contract if I can.
thanks0
